POR Food Court Question

Somewhere I saw it mentioned that there was a toaster and a microwave for guest use at the food court. Is this true or was I dreaming something that I would like to be?

We were there 2 years ago and I remember the microwave, but don't recall a toaster.......but that doesn't mean there's not one!!

yup, we were there in August, and there is a heavy-duty toaster and a microwave, near the pizza pick-up window for self-service use. [I thought we might use the microwave to warm up our leftover pizza the next night, but somebody ate it cold for breakfast!]

And if I remember right, bread was 50 cents a slice!

We were at POR from 8/8/02-8/15/02 and after that trip, I had mentioned the toaster & microwave on a post someplace (I think on the Budget Board). Just confirming Goofy's Sis response, bith are located right by the pizza pick up window.

Can you use the toaster and microwave for food not purchased at the food court, like toast for breakky from that great rainbow bread we buy at Goodings! Or microwave popcorn! S

We didn't use them, but they are not located so that they are accessible to the tables & chairs (you don't have to pass the cash registers to get to them). I saw no signs saying who could or could not use them and saw no one policing the area to prohibit anyone from using them. I assumed that they were there for all resort guests to use (I figure that they know some people will bring their own food and eat in their rooms, so if they can lure some of these guests eat their home brought food in the food court area, there is that much less (insect attracting) food being spilled in the rooms and if you bring the whole family over to toast some bread or warm a bagel, you just may end up buying some of the items that are for conveniently for sale in the food court).

Thanks. I might use the microwave for popcorn, but I really don't see me using it or the toaster for move than that. I wish I knew CBR had microwaves during 2001 trip. ds was 15 months old and I would have made his fav oatmeal in the mic. S

We were there a few weeks ago and they had two large toaster units - where you can open a bagel and lay the halves on a rotating surface. It will toast your bagel perfectly and drop it out underneath. There were quite a few people lined up in the mornings to toast their bagels!! As for the microwave, my kids went to the food court late one night (while the adults were doing an "adult only" night) and bought a bag of microwave popcorn, popped it in the food court, refilled their mugs and drug their tired bodies back to the bayou.

We were also there in August. We used the microwave to make hot tea. We also used the toaster for bagels. I saw a lot of people making popcorn. They also had napkins and plates on that table. I also noticed in the morning they left jelly and butter near the toaster maker. I definately the toaster.
