We are going to POR from 11/22 to 11/27. I have been to Disney before (last trip was in 98), but this is the first time we are going to stay at Disney. Any tips, dos and donts....Also, I have requested AB#14. How close is the nearest bus stop, and what is the average wait?
I need a lot of help....

Hi. Bldg. 14 is a good choice since it is near the food court, check-in and a short walk to the main pool on Ole Man Island. You would use the main bus stop (Mason-Dixon Platforms) just outside the food court/gift shop area. It could be pretty crowded there at that time of year.(Thanksgiving week). In early Nov last year we waited on average, about 8 minutes tops for the buses. Although we were in Magnolia Terrace (bldg. 85) we still used the main bus stop. Be sure to amble around the resort. It has really nice paths.

You will love this resort (I'm kind of partial, see signature:D ). Tip!1...Be sure to reserve at least one evening to take the boat from POR to downtown disney. It is wonderful, very relaxing. Buy the mugs at the food court! They save huge amounts of money. Use the food court, lots of great variety and the food is good (especially the spaghetti and meatballs, so filling). The main pool's slide is a blast! at Ol'Man Island. Also, the jacuzzi there is great after a long day of walking. My biggest tip is this...its about the buses. When you're leaving the parks at night and one bus is packed, but they can squeeze you in, DON'T take it. You'll just have to stand the whole way back, your feet will not like it. We found this past April, another one soon comes afterward, just wait for it, your whole body will thank you that you got a seat. :D Have a wonderful trip and ask any questions at all, I love talking about this resort.

I started a thread last week that you might want to read through - asking for everyone's favorite parts of this resort.

Also, please read my reply post further down in the post - there I've attached a link to our photos from our August trip and you'll see several landscape/resort photos.

This was our 4th visit to Riverside and it remains a favorite for us.

I agree with the opinions above me.

This resort is almost like a "deluxe" priced for a moderate.

The one thing I would recommend is having dinner or breakfast at Boatwrights.

It has a great menu and very "moderately" priced compared to other disney resturants.

When taking the boat BACK from DTD....be careful as to which boat you board.

There is one boat that only goes to OKW.

All boats back from DTD stop at FQ first.

We will be there the day you check out. Nov. 27 to Dec 1.

Have fun. !!!
