I'm so confused about the current state of POR.

I'm planning to go to WDW in the middle of Aug. I really want to stay at POR but I can't seem to find straight answers anywhere about what is going on there. Are half of the rooms currently closed?

I don't mind if half of the buidlings are closed (less people). But what I'm really worried about is

1. Is part of the food court closed? (i read somewhere that it is)
2. Is there limited bus service for the resort?

These are the two things that worry me. Can anyone answer these questions?

Thanks for your help.

We are going in December but haven'y made reservations yet
(waiting for codes) and are as confused as you.

Anyone know what's really going on like someone just back???

When I was there a few weeks ago the mansion homes Acadian House and MagnoliaTerrace were cosed, along with the Alligator Bayou buildings next to Acadian House. By the time I checked out on may 14 there was one bus stop open at the front of the resort near the store. There was one section of the food court closed which ( from what I heard online) had all the good stuff. The one night I ate at the food court all I wanted was salad so I shopped at the refrigereated cases. If these are important to you I would book someplace else though you never know with Disney. They could open that part of the food court again.

Thank you Daannzzz. That's what I was afraid of. POR is my favorite resort but I would miss that portion of the food court if it were closed. I guess i have to stay somewhere else.

Daannzzz,
Thanks I didnt know Magnolia terrace was closed. I have requested this section for our stay in September. I Wonder whether the renovations will be completed by then.

Well that pretty much bums me out too! As a family of 5, POR is our most cost-effective choice. We loved it when we stayed there in 2000 and the food court came in sooooo handy with the 3 kids. What kind of hotel choices do we have now?? I know POR will still be open, but the bus service and food court are very important to us.

I had visited the resort in early part of May and found out that the section that was closed was the one that served the taco salad, ribs and chicken. They still have the pizza section, hamburgers, I think maybe hot dogs. They still had the breakfast section, and the bakery, ice cream, refrigator section (salads, fruit salads, sandwichs, etc).

We were told by one of the workers cleaning the tables that the closing is due to Disney cutting back and he said A LOT of people have been complaining about that section being closed. I still saw a lot of people utilizing the facility. I stayed there last year and I would still stay there with that part closed. But I don't have any kids.
