We are thinking of doing the carraige ride at POR on our next trip and I was wondering how it was. Was it worth the money? We are thinking of taking it one night with our 3 kids. Did you book far in advance or were you able to book it when you got to the hotel? Any info. would be appreciated.:flower3:

I booked in advance to make sure we got the time we wanted. You take your chances if you wait as they seem to sell out a lot.

I think it is definitely worth the money. DW and I have done it three years now (the past two after seeing the 6:00 Cirque show). They take you on a nice leisurely tour of both FQ and RS. It is nice and quiet and often times you will be waving to the other resort guests as you pass. The drivers are all very nice and the horses are beautiful. You and your family will love it!!!

We rode on it last March with our three little ones. We filled up our mugs, and cuddled together enjoying the last ride of the night(I think 9pm or 9:30pm). It was very relaxing. The kids settled down after the first few minutes, and was a great end to our vacation. We booked our carriage ride about 2 months prior.

Two years prior, we waited until we got there to call and try to get a ride for any night, and they were booked all week. The only carriage rides left were in Ft. Wilderness, and we didn't want to have to travel over there.

How do you book the carriage ride @ POR? Do you just call the resort or is there a separate number?

We did a carriage ride this March at POR. We stayed at POFQ and walked over there. We booked in advance. We enjoyed it but our only complaint, and it's not really a COMPLAINT, was we thought ah some nice family time (me, DH and DD) and the VERY nice driver talked the WHOLE time. So not really a complaint but she interrupted any talking we were doing to talk about other stuff. It was nice but we would have enjoyed just getting some alone time from the hustle and bustle. Does that sound bad? I hope I got the point across without sounding like we were mad...we weren't! But we talked about it just the other night and we don't think we will plan on for the next trip.

We did it in April and found it not worth it..

Not horrible but our driver was just a little sullen and did not speak a bunch and only answered questions if we asked..

Sort of wanted a guided tour or at least fact, tidbits about the resorts.

Overall not worth for us..
