Hi everyone!

Just booked a week for this August at POR. I choose this mod over the others because the mansion side themeing appealled to me the most, nice main pool area, good food court, and I like the interior decor of the rooms. I'm just wondering about the bus service though. I 've read several reports in the past where bus service was not so great. I'm hoping things have improved with the new bus system. Any advice anyone??? TIA for any help!

I stayed at POFQ last June and the buses generally stopped there first and then went to POR. In the evening sometimes they split the buses back to the resorts, but if not, again POFQ was first.

I was at POFQ this past May. There did not seem to be any rhyme or reason to the bus service. POFQ was usually the first picked up, but coming back from the parks (or DTD) sometimes they dropped off at POFQ first and sometimes they went all the way around PORS first, before going to POFQ. In the mornings, sometimes the buses would stop at POFQ, then would make only the first two stops at PORS before going on to the parks. There would still be room on the bus though.:confused3 People on here have said that sometimes they will have separate bus stops for POFQ and PORS at night. The only time they did that week was at MK.

The bus system wasn't really all that bad though. I've also stayed at CSR and CBR. The bus system for POFQ/PORS is not as good as CSR, but is better than CBR. We didn't particularly care for CSR, but I have to admit they have the best bus system of any resort I've ever stayed at (including POP, AS Sports, AS Music, POFQ, CBR, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, or Boardwalk--except for the boats at BW).

There actually is a rhyme and reason. This is done in all the resorts with multiple stops, where a guest might want to travel to or from the main lobby and restaurants. The DTD buses run a different route than the park buses.

Using PO as an example: all the park busses (AK, MK, EP, HS) will will stop at FQ first then go to RS South Depot (which is the main stop with the MAin Lobby/Restaurant) then on to the rest of the stops. The DTD buses, on the other hand, will stop at the RS West depot, go around and do the main lobby/restaurant and FQ last. Keep in mind this is related to where the bus is going, not where it came from.

So, if you are at the bus stop near your room and you want to go to FQ or go to the RS Main Lobby/Restaurants then take a DTD bus. If you are at the Lobby/Restaurants at RS and want to take a bus to your room then get on one of the park buses.

CSR and SS is the opposite of PO. If you want to go to the MainLobby/Restaurant from your room take a park bus. If you are at the MainLobby/Restaurant and want to go to your room then take the DTD bus.

I have never heard of this happening. Because PORS is a big circle the buses have to pass each stop before leaving the resort. It is possible there was no one at the stop so the driver bypassed it.

We waited longer at Coronado bus stops this past April than 2006 Easter week at POR. POR gets all kinds of bad talk about the busses. Im sorry but we waited a couple times for twenty minutes to get to typhoon lagoon and Downtown from Coronado. It didnt bother me too much but POR during the crazy easter week of 2006 was only 5-10 minutes. Before we went to Coronado all we heard was how great the busses are.:confused3 Who got picked up first or last I could care less...give me a seat or a rail to grab onto and head to a park for the day.
