POR Bldg. Request Help Please

We are traveling with my mom and inlaws (in their 70's) in Nov. to POR. We booked three rooms and I am looking for a bldg. in the mansion section that would be nonsmoking and close to the food court area and a bus stop. I am not so worried about a pool being really close just that they are able to get a cup of coffee in the morning etc.

Also, did you all LOVE POR or was it just O.K I would love to hear your opinions. Thanks!

I love POR. We've always stayed in the Alligator Bayou section though (by choice). If you take a look at the map for the resort, that will give you a good idea of where the buildings are relative to the main building.

I also love POR. Stayed in every mansion, I've only gotten AB once. Beware of requests at POR, though-don't fall into the mistake I did. Twice at POR I requested AB and got Mansions. The second time my request wasn't met, I was soo disappointed! I begrudgingly went up to my room and moped for about 2 hours. Then I shook myself off and said "At least you're at WDW". You know, when I finally looked around, it was the nicest room, nicest view ever at POR. And here I was wasting 2 hours of valuable "fun time at Wally World" moping in my room. So POR didn't meet my requests-but they sure taught me a lesson! Wherever you are, enjoy it!

Since I e-mailed you this morning, I too am booked for POR with the terrific e-mail postcard rate. We're going in December. This is will be our 5th stay there. We've always stayed in the AB section and have been assigned to buildings 14 and 17. For location, they can't be beat. This time, though, we're thinking about a mansion.

I've read that 2 of the 4 mansions are non-smoking - Magnolia Terrace & Parterre & someone has recently posted who usually stays in Parterre that it was closed for rennovations on most recent visit & he was put in Oak Manor.
