POR- 5 in room

Is it still true that rooms for a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 young children) are only on the Alligator Bayou section of this resort?

A good friend of mine is planning a trip for her family and was told by her TA that she would be on the Magnolia Bend side of the resort. I tried to tell her that would not be the case, but before sticking my foot in my mouth I decided to interject that maybe something had changed since the last time I read about this resort.

Anyone know if it is possible to get one of those trundle bed rooms on Magnolia Bend side of POR?

I'm also staying at POR with 5. (2 adults, 3 children) I've been told by others that they only have the trundle beds in the Alligator Bayou section. I would love Magnolia Bend also but from the looks of it I will have to settle with Alligator Bayou.

i might be mistaken but i thought i read somewhere that all rooms at por now had trundle beds and there was no longer a charge. if i am wrong someone please correct me

We are a family of 5, me,dh and 3 kids 8, 5, 3 1/2 and we just returned on the 14 of Feb from staying at POR. The Mansions are only for a family of 4 and the Alligator Bayou are the ones with the trundle beds only. All the AB rooms have the trundle bed and there is no charge for this and also the fridges. There was tones of room with the 5 of us and 5 suitcases and tones of xtras.

Was the fridge already in your AB room or did you have to request it? I knew the deluxe resorts don't charge for you fridge, but I didn't know about the mods....cool! My friend and her family will DEFINITELY benefit from this!

I do have to disagree....while 5 fit in a room, there really isn't tons of room. We stayed there with kids who were 8, 6 and 4, and felt very, very crowded.

Having said that, we're staying there again with kids who will be 13, 11 and 8. But we're staying there our first night, since we get in so late, and a second night, just so I don't have to pack up again the next morning.

I'm glad there is an option for a moderate with 5 people in a room, don't get me wrong. And I love the PO resort.

I guess it's all what you're used to, because 5 in a room doesn't bother me in the slightest. Our kids are 15, 13, and 8 and our two oldest are over 6' tall. We're going in May and I can't wait!

When we were going to check in to the POR we couldn't get an AB room that we wanted, so the CM told us we could have a mansions room (family of 5). They told us they would bring in a rollaway bed. Well to make a long story short we decided to go back to our GF after realizing the rooms were much smaller than we thought, and we missed the ease of transportation of GF. But they did check us into a mansions room and were going to bring up a rollaway bed. The CM told us they can do this anytime they just don't publicize it.
