Keep in mind that this is for a family of 5 and that we have spent our vacations in single rooms for every trip so far (so far so good!).

Kids are 12, 9 and 6. Can anyone compare the pools? I am not concerned with transportation. How about food, not rsetaurants as much as quick bites? Any reasons I should seriously reconsider either of these and just get a suite at GF....LOL, just kidding about the suite!

I'll probably disreguard all of your winderful suggestions and do whatever my DW wants(just kidding honey).

Thanks!

If money is not a problem then the dolphin, The location is awesome, my kids love the grotto pool it is huge and has a slide, There is no food court though just sit down, if thats a factor to you it could be important. Being able to take a boat to MGM or Epcot or walk to the BW at night is a big plus.

Just remeber they tack on a resort fee to the $139.00 (I think $10.00 dollars a day) + taxes Ouch!!

But all in all you will love the resort.

jdads2: We stayed at the POR in June it was nice and so was the pool. The fast food was OK. I on the other hand would stay at the Dolphin simply because of location and views. We also stayed at the YC and admired the S/D each time we passed on the boat. POR was nice but if money is not a huge factor and the differnce was resonable I would surely pick a deluxe over the moderate. My kids are also 12, 9, and 5. By reading others post on the pool at the dolp. it seems to be well liked. Let us know what your DW decides;)

Dolphin all the way!

We just returned last week from a wonderful stay! There is a food court type place there called "Tubbi's." It kind of a step up from your normal food court though, IMHO.

My BIL and his family just returned from POR and said their room in Magnolia Terrace was in dire need of renovating.

The Grotto Pool is always a big hit with the kids, as well as the adults.

Well, no surprise here...DOLPHIN! If the extra $29 p/n is not a big issue, definately go with the Dolphin. You have some good fast food options there (as well as the surrounding area), and the location can not be beat. :)

I am assuming POR is with taxes incl and the Dolphin is without, correct? I assume this because I got POR for $110.00 for October and that was with tax. The Swan there will be taxes and then that $10.00 resort fee so you are probably looking at another $55.00 or so a night for your hotel with the Swan.

Personally, POR is one of my favorite resorts and I would choose to stay there probably over alot of other hotels including the Swan but thats because I like it so much. But I think both are really good deals. Maybe for five though the Swan rooms are bigger.

Have fun whatever you decide! :)

Well. looks like we have a winner! It's Swan/Dolphin!

Thanks for all the replies...I'll just let my DW know what a great idea she had!!

Why don't you leave the kids at POR and get that GF suite for you and the wife? Just kidding!!

You will love the Dolphin for the Location!!! Your kids will love the Boardwalk, too.

Isn't the maximum number in a room at POR 4 persons? In which case it makes your choice obvious.

I've stayed at both POR and Swan - Will be staying Dolphin for a couple of days end of year. POR was beautiful but room was so dark and there was a lot of trash in the garden area outside my building. I eventually put all the trash into a bag and took it to the front desk!

We stayed POR, YC, DOLPHIN and SWAN. I would definately suggest the YC/BC, pool was the best, room great, daybed worked out well for the 3rd child. But, YC is expensive. Then I would suggest swan/dolphin, nice rooms, dolphin fountain was a good place to eat with children, location is great, pool was also good. If we do not get a great rate for BC this year, we will go back to swan or dolphin. I didn't care for POR that much, we had to stay in AB section because of 5 in a room, room was dark, and I didn't like the theme. But, the price was right at the time. I just think you can't beat the location of YC/BC or S/D. Good luck with your decision.

autumnblue, That was an AP(Annual Passholder) rate.

Mickiethepooh, POR will hold 5 with a trundle bed.

swilphil, the GF is the plan for me and the Mrs. this late winter/early spring...woohoo!!

Thanks again for the replies,
