I hate to even bring up the topic, but this is our first year going during Pop Warner week. We will be at CBR, which our TA and Disney CM said is NOT on the Pop Warner package list.

What were crowds like during this week LAST year?

it was very busy in the parks and the kids were less then friendly. Your hotel should be okay but I would not go again during that week

I live in England, so can you tell me exactly what is 'Pop Warner'? Means nothing to me!

Thanks, now I understand! The first time we visited WDW,in 1996, we stayed at the AllStars just before Easter and it was full of cheerleaders, so I suppose this will be similar but with young footballers as well.

does anyone know the dates if pop warner and which hotels they are staying at?

we where there the same time......rude,rude children !!

pushed past my wee boy all the time at the foodcourt.

i nearly told a few where to stick there....:cheer2:

i would love to go for our anniv. which is 12/6, but i dont think it will happen anytime soon....................i dont think i could stand it.

Thanks for the info. I will be arriving on Dec 8th at the All Star Sports hotel.....guess I will be greeted with lots of lil' ones. This will be interesting.

Not exactly all lil' ones. They go up to age 16. The teenage girls (cheerleaders) are the ones that get on your nerves. They will be walking through the park and break into spontaneous chants. I've always stayed at Boardwalk so they were not an issue at the resort and really not that bad at the parks. One time I had a girl behind me on ToT and she screamed at the top of her lungs the entire ride, probably just for attention. Even the girl next to her told her to shut up.

We've never shared a resort with them so I can't comment on that. In the parks I would agree that the cheerleaders are the most annoying things around. Cheering in line, in the middle of Main Street, etc. Expect the kind of behavior you would see in a large group of teens. It didn't ruin our trip by any means and we would go that week again (but it wouldn't be our first choice). There is no such thing as a bad trip to WDW!

I changed my reservations a couple months ago from the 12/1 - 12/8 to 12/8-12/16 for that very reason and I am very glad that I did!

Let me begin by saying I am NOT "Child Friendly," but I have been three times during Pop Warner and did not experience any problems. One time I was even at sports, but we were in Hoops and faced the parking lot. If staying at a value resort, I would NOT be in a building near any of the pools or food courts. The only obnoxious behavior we say was from the CHAPERONES--not the kids.

They're going to be there the whole week I'll be there. Oh well. I'm still going to Disney!! :cheer2:

In '03, I stayed at Music at the same time as the POP kids. They were loud at times, but not a big issue. While riding the buses, later in the day, they were a bit rowdy. Now I've been to WDW a few times at the same time and they really haven't impacted me much. They tend to be in the parks at night, since they are in competitions during the day. Yes, they can be less than polite. But, and this is what really surprised me....I was at WDW in late May a few years ago. There were a ton of 'groups' in Epcot....youth groups, camps..that sort of thing. And they were brutal. YOu had to hear the mouths on some of these kids...they were rude, obnoxious, pushy. Evidently, May/June are big months for church/school groups in Florida to head to Epcot for the day. Then, when we headed to Tampa at the end of our WDW stay, we ran into more of these kids at Busch Gardens. Hard to believe but they were worse behaved than the groups at WDW...actually saw a spitting contest while in line for a ride...and it included both sexes!!! You would have thought that groups with the name of their affiliation on the shirts would have had better behaviour. I wanted to write down a few of the groups' names and send off a letter to the appropriate church/school and let them know how badly behaved their kids were.
The POP kids paled in comparison. I'll be there with them again this year. I do arrive towards the end of their stay so I'm not overly concerned. They really haven't impacted me adversely in the past.

i know back in 2005 it was nice til the weekends. we never noticed the kids (yet we knew they were there) until we noticed a group of kids(about 20 kids or so) all wanting to ride a few rides at MK. never noticed them during the am hours cause they were playing football. i can tell ya one thing, if they start cheering on a bus or TOT againn i won't be as nice.:scared1: practice is good but when others have to hear it on rides, buses and the monorail it gets  or :scared:
it's really not that bad. but i've heard the complants here on the DIS.

i would love to go for our anniv. which is 12/6, but i dont think it will happen anytime soon....................i dont think i could stand it.

12/6 is mine and DH's 15th anniversary and we are staying for two day (12/06 and 12/07) at SSR after our cruise. I had forgotten it was POP Warner Week. It's not that bad if you are not staying at one of their resorts. I do have to agree with those who have said the cheerleaders get on your nerves:rolleyes: . I think you would be alright, happy anniversary anyhow!

I was there last year during this week and would never go back. I stayed at csr and was told they wouldnt be there they were everywhere. They were loud and very rude all week. The parks they would start chanting very annoying!! The parks werent crowded by them but the ones that were there were making very rude comments about other guests.
Just my opinion.

My family and I will be there Nov.28 - Dec. 4 so I am really hoping not to run into the rude, disrespectful behavior these group of kids are mostly known for. The chaperones don't seem to step up when they "misbehave" so if they push or shove any one of my kids......myself and DH will let them have it!!!!!

On a more personal note, remember 9/11 fellow dissers. I pray and send my deepest sympathies to the families of the doomed planes, WTC, and the Pentagon. I remember that day like it was just yesterday. :sad1:
