Based off the other thread....how popular was your childs name the year he/she was born?

http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/

My kids
Rayden 1995 - Her name not in the top 1000 in the past 14 yrs (not in male either)

Kayleigh 2000 -Rank 349

Sage 2008 - Rank 750

Ella 2009 - (only 2008 ranked) #19!! Wow... although, her real name
Ellasen isn't in the top 1000 for the past 10 yrs...

Mine (David) is within the top 20 within the past 10 years.

Derrick was #99 the year he was born
Mark was #49 the year he was born
Nicole was #22 the year she was born

Jacob has been #1 for the past 10 years, at least...
Emilie was #472 the year she was born, but the more common spelling of Emily was #1 every year since 1999 until 2008 when it slipped to #3.

Yeah...we weren't too creative.

DS 1 he is 13 years old Tristan ranked 68th. Ds 2 he is 7 Travis ranked 178th and DD she is 2 Sophia ranked 9th.

Edward- 2008-148 -----year he was born 1975-54
Philip-2008 378-------- year he was born, 1984-70
Marie-2008- 546 year she was born 1994-301

My daughter's name is Eryn. In her birth year (1997), it was the 52nd most popular name when spelled Erin.

DS # 1 - Lucas. His was 66 the year he was born and 46 now.

DS # 2 - Noah. His was 14 the year he was born and 15 now.

Noah's threw me. I didn't know of any other Noah's and figured it was less common. Since he was born there has been quite the surge of them that I have heard of!

Ok by me - I love the name!

My older DS is Zachary...it was #16 the year he was born (2001) and is #47 last year. What is funny is that he has only ever been in class with one other Zachary...and my DS goes by Zach.

My younger DS is Samuel...it was #25 the year he was born (2007) and was #28 last year. We have only seen older kids with that name.

I guess I picked popular names, but didn't realize it at the time. Both of them were family names.

They have Catherine at 85 the year she was born. I have rarely met another child her age spelled the same way (and I thought I was spelling it the 'traditional' way). Oh well.

Jordan (female)

257 in 1985. It got up as high as 40 in 1997. 130 in 2008.

Ellasen and Rayden are very pretty names...But did you make them up?...Is that why they are never in top 1000?...I only ask because here in the uK..I have never heard those names before.:)

My kids are Ryan and Georgia...both pretty common.

Lydia in 2002 was 137. It has been creeping up in small numbers.

Helena in 2006 was 511. It was 612 in 2008.

Bradley (1990) 65th

Brittany (1991) 3rd (her daddy made me do it.... I wanted something less everyday!!) her middle name only came up as a boy name but it wasn't as common

DGS named Colin is 8, was #125 then and now #114.

DGS named Owen is almost 4, was #60 then and is now #58. That's really interesting to me, because at the time, I had never heard of the name, except for in the title of a John Irving novel. Of course, now we've heard of Owen Wilson, but not so much then.

4th
3rd
10th

In the years they were born.. Ironically, they were named after family members - not because of any trends..:goodvibes

Thanks :)
Rayden was actually a boys name from the movie "Mortal Kombat"... lol, but we loved it.
And, Ellasen is a take off Allison, but putting my grandmothers name of Ella in there....

My 3 kids names were not in the top 1000 for any year in the last 9 years.
I know some don't like to give their kids names, and I respect that...but now you have me curious!! I LOVE different names :)
