Are there any specific jobs in the program that everyone seems to want? Any that seem to be really competitive?

For females the BBB hostess is a popular role and very difficult to get, seeing as out of 7,000+ accepted applicants, only about 30 girls get it each semester.

It also seems like a lot of people request spieling attractions, like the Jungle Cruise. I think Haunted Mansion is also very popular to request.

Character Performer is hugely popular. When I did the program in 08 only 1 in every 5 people who auditioned made it.

Character attendant is another one that takes limited people (as does photopass). Possibly concierge as well?

I remember Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion as well. I worked in the hotels at the gift shops though and it was nice. My friends were sweating it out in the parks and I had air condition and hardly any crowds. Working the rides sounded like fun ... but I always had air and I didn't get tired of the parks becuase I worked at the hotels. Either way, the college program is fun. Just don't go during the summer! Miserable crowds and heat. There were lots of days we couldn't go into the parks after worked because they were too full. Have fun! I'd do it all again, if I could.

There are a LOT of CP's at Jungle Cruise. Right now we are getting in our ICP's. Most spieling attractions get asked for (Great Movie Ride, Jungle Cruise, Safari's) and heavily-themed areas (Haunted Mansion, Tower of Terror)

Concierge is the highest paid, i believe, and the hardest CP to get. They hire less than 10 a semester.

this is exactly why i want to work in the hotels, i dont want to get burnt out on the parks.

I worked at MK and it's my favorite park. I definitely went there plenty times more than the other parks, and that's not counting work. lol. Everyone is different though.

Anyways, to get back on subject...just like Joanna said, you can email them about it. Or if you haven't had your interview yet, during your interview, try to stress strongly which role you would like to have and what you could bring to it. During my interview, I really wanted to do merchandise, and the interviewer didn't say anything about it, and so I asked her to put it in my top three. I also told her my experience in retail, and I think I got put in Fantasyland because I had worked at an elementary school as a tutor alongside the boys and girls club. Just like with everything, it doesn't hurt to try! You never know what magic they could bring your way :wizard:
