I can hardly believe that 1 month from today I'll be using our swap's fridge again. I have to say that I never thought that it would last the entire year. Even though we've had a few rough spots over the year, all in all, it's worked out well. We no longer have our original fridge,(actually #3) but any free fridge is fine with me.

I would like to thank all those swappers we came after, and now, before me, that helped make this swap a success.

After I return from WDW I will be looking for someone to take this swap over. So, if you're an organized person, who likes to help others, please think about it. Now that the swap is up and going, there really isn't too much to do-just respond yes, or no, to requests for fridge, and swap some info. No phone calls are required, unless the fridge goes missing, then a few phone calls maybe needed.

While I fully expect to return to WDW in late 2008, I don't expect that this fridge swap will last until then. I'm hoping to be able to join one, in progress. If not, I wouldn't have a problem with organizing another one, but I would hand over the reins sooner. (I'm not, not, not, a control freak! Really, I'm not. I just can't seem to let it go! )

Again, thanks for all those who have made this successful and an extra thanks to those who have done a little something extra for me-you know who you are! (DD7 should be getting her FGM in a few weeks! )

The closest one is SNA (also known as John Wayne, or Orange County) However, alot of times the flight in and out of SNA are more expensive. Also, they don't have many late night flights (if any) thanks to the rich people who live in Newport Beach, directly under the flight path. Not much further away is ONT (Ontario) which is the one we use most and is a GREAT airport to fly in, and out, of. Everything is just so much easier there, especially if you compared it to LAX-which is huge, and very busy. The third closest, after ONT is Long Beach. It's a smaller airport, and doesn't have alot of flights but I think Jet Blue does alot from there. And then the 4th closests, the granddaddy of them all, is LAX.

LAX is fine, but there are alot of flights into, and out of, and therefore everything takes longer. Unfortunately, depending on where you are coming from, sometimes LAX is the cheapest, and has the most direct flights. Since we moved out of Orange Co. about 6 years ago, we have only used LAX once. It was for a red-eye on Song (now Delta) and it was direct, and only $89 e.w.! We couldn't pass it up. But our preferred airport is definitely ONT. Everything is just better there, with the exception of direct flights from ONT to MCO-there aren't any! But when we consider that if we go to LAX, and have to park our car, we need to allow about 3 hrs., versus about an hour or so at ONT, then even if we have a 1 or 2 hr. layover in SLC or ATL, it's not that bad. Also, I don't mind having a break between flights as 5 hrs. on a plane is hard for me, as well as DD7.

Without taking traffic into account (and if you are arriving in the a.m. or between 3-7 p.m., on a weekday, you'll want to consider it) SNA is about 30 mins. from DL, ONT is maybe 50; LB is about the same, and LAX is an hour, or more.

Sorry, but Sept. is really popular! I've been contacted by several disboarders who are planning on starting up their own swaps, so keep looking on resort and/or budget boards or maybe consider starting your own. You could even just do a smaller swap, with maybe only 4 swappers. Your cost would still be less than renting, and you wouldn't have to keep organizing it. HTHs.

I know! I'm amazed too! I never thought that I would be able to use it again but I'll be there in 16 days and it's still going. Of course, technically, it's not the same fridge (actually the 3rd one) but a free fridge is a free fridge! Sorry you're not going again this year.

I just heard from Diamond_Girls and everything went well. Fridge is in good condition. Toaster is still like brand new and coffee pot is still with us.

I'll be back in the world in just 14 days and can hardly believe it's finally happening. One thing I want to share with all my swapper friends-We are planning a little special magic fopr my DD7 while there. My DNiece (former CM at DL) and current grad student at U of U, is going to join us for the end of our trip! This will be a complete surprise to my DD and I can't wait to see her face when her cousin Shelley walks in! It'll be priceless. All I have to do now is keep it a secret for about another 2 1/2 weeks. I'm going to tell my DD that I have a special, early birthday (she'll turn 8-3 days after we get home) surprise for her, and then in will walk my niece. My DNiece has been with us for 3 trips in the past (love using her CM discount ) but this is her first trip as a non-CM. However, she does still have 4 one-day PH tickets to use and my DM paid for her flight, so it's almost like she's still a CM-with the exception of no room discount for us.

I'll let you all know how things went when we get back. We plan on taking alot of PP pix too since I joined a CD Sharing Plan.

OK I am way late in trying to plan this trip. We will be at the POP Sept 11-25.
Also looking for suggestions on how to spend the time there. We have a 10 day pass that includes the water parks.
