DisneyDaz, just wondered if you could tell me how to go about starting a swap like this? The dates I'm there Sept 3rd - 17th are already taken but would love to start another up? Do Pop mind you leaving the fridge there?

Basically, since I was the first one to use the fridge, I picked it up on my way to WDW. Some swappers have actually had the fridge delivered to POP (or other resorts)
I posted on several different threads about it and then awarded the dates on a first come, first served, basis. Our first joiners all paid $10 each. Once the fridge was paid for, I stopped collecting $.

It can stay in storage for, at most, 2 weeks. POP has been great about it, especially the few times it went missing (once for a day, few times for a few hours.)

Alot of the swappers who started when I did have stopped their swaps. I believe they just left the fridge in the room (which would be the same if you bought one just for your use). POP keeps unclaimed items for 30 days and then disposes of them. (one way or another)

If your swappers can arrange for personal handoffs, it's better. The less time the fridge is in storage, the better.
I let the swappers make their own arrangements. I did ask them for their name, ressie #, check-in date, and contact #, just in case.

When I started the swap, I wasn't with Paypal, so I had swappers send checks, or cash. If I was doing it now, I would have them go through PayPal. (We had 2 swappers who sent cash, who I never received. )

We've actually had a recent change to the time when you are going. jcemom has changed resorts and shanhop is first in line for 9/24 to 9/30. I've sent her a PM but if she doesn't want it, it's yours (from 9/24 to 9/27) I'll let you know as soon as I do. Thanks for looking.

For those looking for revised dates end of Sept/early October, as of now we have it available from either 9/30 to 10/3 or 9/27 to 10/3. I will revise list as soon as things are definite.

FYI-I am posting these other swaps as a courtesy to those who haven't found one yet. Please don't sign up for more than one-if you have already committed to this one (or another one) please respect the time and trouble it takes to organize these swaps and don't sign up for two (or more). If you drop out at the last minute, you will cause the swap organizers to scramble to notify all swappers involved, as well as trying to fill-in your slot. So please, be considerate of all the hard work it takes to organize a swap and don't "hedge your bets" by signing up for more than one. I know at least one other organizer feels the same way I do. Also, you are taking a time slot from someone else who could use it. Thanks

Available 7/5 to 7/22 NEWLY AVAILABLE We need to fill this up at least partially to reduce gap to less than 2 weeks.

Unfortunately, the time frame you need is very popular. I posted the swaps I know of on page 29. Maybe you could start your own small swap? Just a few familes to share the cost. Like I said, the time period is very popular and you shouldn't have any problem getting a few to join in. And, if you could arrange personal hand-offs, POP wouldn't get annoyed at so many fridges in storage.

I am soooo sad. We won't be able to take our annual Disney trip this year after all. Our cat has just cost us over $5000.00 in vet bills. Kidney failure. Anyways...she is a part of our family and we gladly dumped our saved vacation money into paying for her surgery/care.

So....I no longer will need the fridge. I believe I was down for some where in the last 2 weeks of August.

Hope somebody else can fill the slot. It's such a great idea and we hope to get in on it next year!!! NOTHING will keep me away 2 years in a row!!!
