Well i'm getting sued and so is the FDNY on my behalf, well thats what i was told last night.
So picture this.....
We get a run/job or a Person with multible gun shot wounds last night. We roll, i'm driving and we get there in under 2 minutes. What we find is a 17 year old male shot 7 times. Shot in the chest, stomache and both legs. Now to say he was an innocent bystander would be a lie. This kid had over $6,000 on him and some white powder in baggies in his pockets. It later tested postive for crystal meth. So i now he is a drug dealer.
Here is the kicker, we don't take your clothes off if we have too. We cut them off. Now his pants had multible gun shots holes in them, so when we went to cut his pants off to stop his legs from bleeding from the gun shot wounds, he flipped out and tells us that these we very expensive jeans and how he is gonna sue the FDNY and my guys for the cost of his jeans. To be honest he has no law suit, but he thinks he does.
I calmly told him to find the person who shot him and sue them, we are just trying to save him, and why would you argue and fight with those trying to save your life. He told me something i can't say here without getting points.
So as the NYPD hancuffed him to the strecher for being in posession of a major controled substance with intent to sell, his family says how the FDNY and NYPD planted the stuff on him. How they are calling the news.
So lets look at the facts. Your 17 year old son lives with you on welfare in city owed housing, meaning the projects. He has no job, you as the parent have no job or no money and live in city housing on welfare. so therefor you don't give him any money. Yet he owns a new car, has a $2,000 leather coat on and wears nothing but designer clother.Not to mention all the jewerly he has on. His pants alone were worth over $400 and you mean to tell me you as the parent, you had no idea that maybe he had a little side business.
Is it me?????
So the kid is a drug dealer, i can asure you we the FDNY were the first ones on the scene and me and my guys did not plant anything in his pockets. Are the parents blind??? Do they not see what this kid is doing and wearing?? I swear to you this kid had to have over 10 grand worth of clothes and jewerly on him, not to mention the cadillac he owns brand new. Did you wonder how does a 17 year old with no job, get the money for these things?? The parents knew about the caddy, cause he told mom " drive my car to the hospital and meet me there" and thats a quote!! You know with a little more parenting this kid would be fine. If he lives, i hope he gets the help he needs and changes his ways quick.
Still some part of me was really bitter last night, i had to listen to this kid belittle us, as we were trying to help him and save his life. I had to listen to the parents complain how its the police's falut cause they don't do enough and patrol and protect the city well enough. Well what about you, the parents??
Sadly this is nothing new in the area i work, this is a common story. It just has a different actor palying the part each time.
