Hi gang,
Sorry I've been neglecting you guys, but i've been so busy lately. You guys must read this!! I put in for the special detail yesterday, this is what it's about..................
HARLEY HOG HEAVEN FOR FAST FDNY MEDICS
By DAVID SEIFMAN
June 17, 2007 -- If the Fire Department gives the go-ahead, Harley-Davidson is ready to donate eight of its motorcycles to the FDNY so paramedics can get to life-threatening emergencies more quickly.
Public Advocate Betsy Gotbaum, who secured the bikes from the nation's best-known motorcycle manufacturer, also plans to spend $40,000 from donated funds to equip them for medical use.
"We have a project where we're going - Harley-Davidson is donating motorcycles so that we can have some rapid emergency medical-transition technicians from the FDNY responding to emergencies in some of the more crowded areas, as they have in other cities," Gotbaum said during a taping of WNBC/Channel 4's News Forum, which airs today
Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta would have to give his approval before the city could accept the two-wheelers for a six-month pilot project.
Motorcycle medics have already proven their worth in London and Miami.
Officials at Miami-Dade Fire Rescue report that response times to critical emergencies fell 60 percent, to an average of 2.83 minutes, thanks to the motorcycles.

MRFDNY--That looks fun...and dangerous...but I guess your whole line of work is dangerous. Good luck!
Dan wants one - but he won't ever get one ( Just cause I say !)
YUP! agreed! DH had one when we were younger and it was fun!! but the rules were, once we were married it was time to get rid of it!! He obliged, but still gets little puppy dog eyes when he sees them! hahahaha!! He understands though why i really don't like them.
Lori (and whoever else)--I found out on Wednesday, so I didn't hold out on you too long, but my mom reads these boards, so I had to wait until I told her first. We've been trying for about a year, a little more. She was still nursing up until our sept disney trip when she weaned, so that made things more difficult...so last month I thought I was pregnant because I was 9 days late, but no. This month I (PJ might want to stop reading) ovulated 12 days late, so I waited 12 days after when I thought AF should be due, then 3 more days and I was going to test. That morning DH goes "So why is your period so late?" I said "i don't know" and I went downstairs and took the test. I never had a positive test with DD, only a blood test, so I was shocked when the pregnancy line came up before the control line. I had a whole elaborate plan to tell DH. The day before I tested I had ordered a "I'm the big sister" t-shirt that I was going to put on DD and give her a kids meal to give DH at work. I gave DH a kids meal to tell him I was pregnant with DD. Well, after I got the positive test, I tried to keep a straight face so I could wait for my t-shirt to come in the mail, but I'm an awful liar. DH goes "What were you doing downstairs in the bathroom?" So I said, "Why don't you go look for yourself?!" (i'm thinking poop here) SO he goes down and looks and says "Oh, you took a test...what's it say?" I said, "Its positive." What? And he pulls out the instructions...which I had already done since I couldn't believe how fast the positive line came up. So he hugged me, and tears came to his eyes. That's about it. We told my parents by putting the shirt on DD, and we'll tell his parents that way tomorrow night.
huh !!! you made it sound like you two are 70... paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaleeazeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
