In the past 2 days -Ive gotten 2 PM's from different people letting me know how offended they are, at something I said.

Do these people have nothing better to do? Seriously...

One was on my 'do you have a child with tics' thread.... I said I was scared my son's ticks could turn into barking or shouting out obscenities AND that maybe my mom was an undiagnosed whack-job.

She let me know how offended she was at my comments - although she has no mental illness in her family. Ummmm...okay.

And today - the thread about do you fear death. I offended someone who had seen Jesus in her living room.

Im annoyed and aggrivated. People run their mouth how politically correctness runs amok - YET theyre the first to pipe in about how un-politically correct someone can be.

IM TICKED.

Hi you guys,

Well on monday we had dw's grandfathers funeral. He was a nyc (NYPD) police officer,so at the church they had a huge amount of police officers there and they carried his coffin,he also was a marine so they played taps and had a few marines at his burial.At the church we all talked about a man who helped total strangers and laughed a lot,while still sad.There were pictures of him everywhere, and even a ton from when he was a police officer and made the news.Back in 1964 i think,he jumped into freezing ocean to help someone that tried to jump in and commit suicide,he was able to save them, in ww2 he got a purple heart.Although i had been in the family over 12 years,i did not know these things,he was a humble man.He had 5 sons and they were all there today,sad but still smiling at some of the stories shared in the church.It was a sad day and dw handled it well. I learned of a great man today.I don't know how to say this any better,so here goes.I mean on terms of death and funerals,the way everyone shared stories about him today and these stories gave great comfort and smiles to everyone,well what a great way to remember him by.It started to make me think,that when i go this is what i want at my funeral,smiles and laughter.anyway its all over and he will be missed by all and forgotten by few.Well thats really it,i have off until wednesday and have a million things to catch up on today(tuesday)

it soundsl ike a great way to go neing remembered for the great person you were.

2 things!

We went grocery shopping last night and while ordering our meat at the butcher, i saw a woman walk by with a giant KICK ME sign on her!!! she had no kids with her, but i'm sure one of them put it on her! who else would! BUTTTTT the butcher was taking forever and i never saw her again! well as we were checking out, i saw her and peeled it off her back and she turned bright red and said "my kids!! that's been on here the whole time??" she looked mortified poor gal! Sal said he's not sure if he would have told her,he's just really wierd..waht would you have done??

SECOND thing!

We went out to dinner last night and had the WIERDEST experience!

There was a family sitting behind us in the booth and they were arguing VERRRY loudly with SWEAR words!! i mean the F-word and stuff like that! The wife was just berrating the man like crazy and then she called him more obscenities and insisted they divorce RIGHT NOW. The DH then said i'll request the check, pay and walk out of your life forever and on and on it went....well then the food was delievered and they are arguing as the waitress is putting the food down! THEN DH leaves to go ask to be moved, since our kids DO NOT need to hear this AT ALL! the wife then starts nagging the husband about how he eats, how he is drinking (out of a straw) and on and on...As we are being moved, i notice they have 2 little girls about 8 and 10 i would say how could they do that in public..but MAINLY how could they do that in front of their children?????? The little one had silent tears running down her face as she ate..

I wonder how their home life is

My thought: If someone starts a thread with such topics, they have to expect and tolerate other people's opinions. It is not like they didn't ask for it! That is why they posted the thread!! Do not feel bad Cat. Refuse to let them make you feel that way. You are Cat and we love you. Keep posting your opinions.

Oh that breaks my heart. I bet that is how most families are too. Everything is so messed up.

I do not like it when someone walks by us in public and says a bad word when DD is with us. It is there choice to say what they want, but I still don't like it.

I just wish in a situation like that I had the cahoney's (spelling?) to say, "look at what you are doing to your children". But I don't have any cahoney's.

DH would say the same thing. I would have done what you did. I always think "what if that was me". But half the time when I try to help people out, they look at me like I have two heads.

Has anyone ever used the Passporter book? I never have. I always get those guides with Mickey on the cover. I thought about picking up a passporter just to keep myself busy. For fun. It is not like any of us need the information.

Okay, with those people yelling at each other at dinner, what if you (if it ever happens again) secretly paid their bill. Then they are yelling at each other and when it is time for the check, the waiter says someone else already took care of it. (Depends on what kind of restaurant you are in of course. ) I pictured that it would stop the argument and they would just look at each other. They realize that they were being ridiculous.

Not likely, but it could work.
