Our last trip there were people at POR using OLD nasty looking Dixie Landings mugs. If I were going to do that I would want it to be rather unnoticeable, but people are just so "I don't care". I agree that if this abuse of the system gets out of control, measures will be taken. I do not want to stand in line for my mug to be filled. Disney is nice enough to have it the way it is and people take advantage. I mean, didn't we learn appropriate behavior in kindergarten?

Tiia - I think I saw that same lady!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also saw at least one person at the frozen coke mackhine trying to fill up a regular water bottle with frozen coke. I'm like you guys, I really don't give a hoot...I just kinda snicker under my breath

So here's my story , The story your about to hear is true,the names and places have been changed to protect the innocent.My name is sgt friday, oh wait wrong story, heres mine. I know from expierence if i post this on the cb i will get flammed, so since i trust you guys i tell you last nights events. Sadly i was informed last night i am being sued.

So last night were at the fire house sitting down watching t.v, Anyway Me and jimmy are working along with a few others , me and jimmy have the most time on the job and are the senior men at the fire house. Jimmy has just over 13 years on the job , while i'm right behind him with 9 and change. The Tones go off over brooklyn fire dept radio for brooklyn and that means there is a report of a major call/run/job comming in.While the newer guys wait for the dispatcher to call the actually unit ,me and jimmy with are time on,can tell who's job it is just by the location. The dispatcher is saying " in brooklyn 911 recieving multible calls for a car flipped over on such and such streets/intersection. Right away i know thats us, we are first due to that location and me and jimmy take a jog out of the fire house lounge to the rig. The newer guys do not know the area that well and wait to see who's job it is, about now the FDNY dispatcher is calling " battalion **/engine ***/ conditions **/Medic **/Rescue **, and well thats us. Myself and jimmy are already at the rig and I'm behind the wheel tonight and jimmy presses the Door opener and the gates roll up on the fire house and it's on!! Lights and sirens blasting and blazing,we roll. Me and jimmy know it's a real job,if 911 its getting several calls its legit. At this poinmt the fdny dispatcher announces she's got well over 15-911 calls on this event and even is sending an extra unit with us for back up.

We pull out of the house and take a quick right, we are the first unit out of the fire house (slow pokes), I'm driving safe, but moving fast.Tonight it seems everyone else driving home from work or from shopping has forgot dmv laws to give us the right away and it seems,no one is moving out of the way for us, but i know thats the adrenaline that makes it seem that way. We pull up and see the accident, and yes there is a car on it's hood,up side down. We go over and its clear very quick why the driver has flipped over, not only has he flipped over,but before flipping over has been shot 6 times. So there it is he has 2 gun shot wounds to the chest ,another in the stomach and 3 more to the legs. We pull him out and he is still alive. We have him flat on his back next to the car and i can see blood all over his shirt and jacket and i began to cut his t-shirt and jacket off. I could care less about this young mans shirt or jacket being ruined or torn or cut, I'm trying to save his life. He does not see it the way i do, and there it is the comment i love to hear is made, " You just cut my $500 dollar leather jacket ,i'm gonna sue you,i swear" Wonderful , and of course your welcome sir. I had to ask "do you know who shot you?" He says maybe (maybe means yes,but i ain't gonna tell you or the police and will handle this my own way) So i suggest to sue them and not the folks trying to make it so you'll be able to walk again some day. He's not too thrilled with my comment as i am not too thrilled with his. So there it is, anyone have a good lawyer???? I really hope he does'nt get my annunal passes to wdw, i be willing to part with the wife if i lose the law suit,but oh god not the wdw annunal passes!! Actually if i had a penny everytime i was told i would be sued or told "i pay your salary" I own disney by now!! Thats my story and i'm sticking too it!

As I was contemplating about this scenario you guys had mentioned ... ( I did not see the thread )... Now I ask you this.. Which is worst... or which is the lesser Evil ... A) go dumpster digging... or B) You saw a Pop Cup, nobody was looking you take it hide it in your purse and bring it next time you are in Pop let's say in 2 weeks ?

I gotta be honest with you - I dont see the big deal.

I know - gross, huh? But, thats what soap is for.

Now actually using this during your stay - Im not going to get into the 'moral' discussion, since it would have been paid for by yourself, during your stay.

But - although the idea of "Dumpster Diving" isnt appealing - would any of you buy a mug from lets say a garage sale? Or a thrift store? Cuz I bought myself a Dixie Landings mug for 50 cents from a Salvation Army, after they switched the hotel name. I washed it when I got home.... then decided to use it as a pen holder. But I would have used it as a mug...

Anyone?

OMG!! What a thankless job. I would say the jacket was probably already ruined! I hope he makes it out okay and GOOD JOB to you. You do something the rest of us could never bring ourselves to do. The most exciting part of my day is packing Jul's princess lunchbox (with the halloween napkin and disney clipart enhanced note).

Maybe you should put the annual passes in someone else's name so they would be safe. You know, how people put money in foreign banks? Or be like the Sopranos and hide them in the backyard.

I could probably buy one to use as a pen holder or something but I don't think I could ever drink out of it no matter how many times I washed it. I am 'not right' when it comes to cleanliness. I overclean like crazy. Neat as a pin. It runs in my family. My sister lives in a rental in CA and has never used her dishwasher (she handwashes) b/c of the people who would have used it before. We need help.

Oh, theyre mean there.

I used to only post on CB - and read other threads and boards before my trip. And other than this one - I *really* only posted there...just cuz you can only answer so many times 'What time is the 3 o'clock parade?" Y'know?

Anyways - since my trip return... I havent wanted to read so much negativity, and so much anger. It's just not worth it, IMO. So, occassionally Ill eyeball the threads over there - but Im trying to stay on the lighter side.

I can not even tell you how many nasty PM's I'd get. SO MANY. I was like "dont these people have lives??"

And you all know about the 'other board', correct? Where they rip on DIS'ers they dont like, like CRAZY!!!???

If you wanna PM me - Ill send you that way, but honestly - be prepared. Theyre super nasty, and it's rather mean. I never EVER posted there, simply because again - not worth it. But I cant say my feelings werent hurt when I read stuff about me.

Yeah - but keep in mind (why I dont care who uses what mugs, when) When Disney initially sold those refillable mugs, they were "good for life" - at any resort you want, I dont know. But they were "good for life". I have 4 Carribean Beach Mugs that I bought under this premise. They were just a solid color - and said Carribbean Beach.

This is why I stopped visiting the CB. I just can't deal with that much negitivity, and it seems to go in waves over there. My life is hard enough without having total and complete strangers judge me based on one comment, which is not me and not my whole life. LOL. I know, I shouldn't work in customer service, because I take things too personally...the sad thing is that I DO work in customer service, and I DEFINATELY take things too personally!

But I like you guys, and I like this thread. We all might disagree or have different opinions, but we're nice about it!

I have to say that we also saw plenty of people refilling whatever they wanted. It's annoying but whatever!? I've never been on the cb boards they sound like a downer. I hope I'm not about to flame anyone on this board,but I want to share my biggest pet peeve about our vacation.

People who act like they are the only ones in "the world" with rights. It was hot, people are tired and hungary and want good views of parades and fireworks, but don't we all. Yet there is always someone who thinks that they are the only ones who deserve to have all their needs meet. For instance one day we were getting on the bus to MK and there was a group of people on our bus who were complaining about EVERYTHING!! My husband got stuck standing next to them and he just kept looking at me and rolling his eyes. In their group was an older woman w/ a scooter. She kept complaining about the buses b/c SHE couldn't back the scooter on the ramp properly. Whatever no big deal, but it was kinda a downer on the way to "the happiest place on earth"

So when we get off my husband(who is an extremely patient person) said "those people were driving me crazy. Makes you wonder what kind of fun their going to have here?" Later that evening we were trying to get a good spot to watch "wishes". Well the spot we picked was awful(no wonder nobody was sitting there) so we decide to walk along to find a better spot and of course "wishes"was already in progress. I did get to see Tinkerbell fly over and that's what I really wanted anyway. We end up stopping on a walkway almost to the hub from tomorrowland. Then I hear this annoying voice from this morning and she was pusing a stroller yelling" excuse me, excuse me I will run over your toes" We turn around and she is just pushing her way through the crowd like she's the only one there. All we could do was laugh. maybe they were having a bad day or week but you think at Disney you could at least try to be courteous. I know that was off the topic but that was my little annoyance.
