Hi everyone!

Today was my first day of work at POR. I really enjoyed it! For a few hours I was a greeter, handing people Mardi Gras beads and talking to them. Then I did Magical Moments, which I loved! I asked people Disney trivia and gave them a certificate! Tomorrow is my first day on the cash register! I'm kind of nervous!

You'll be fine, your living all of our dream jobs. I know sounds silly from me Mr. FDNY, but i would leave the FDNY and all it's action in nyc in a heart beat to go and work at disney. I really gave it much thought about 2 years ago. I would do anything to be able to go work at disney!! Relax and have fun, after all thats what disney is all about. Oh yea, if ever you see a guy with a FDNY t-shirt on and your sure its me, you can always give me the one night castle stay.

Got my state tax refund today - WOOHOO !! That was nice suprise. i thought it would have been another couple fo weeks ! Hope everyone is having a good week - we're almost halfway through !

Hi poppers,

Whats doing?? I'm beat!! It was 68 here today, it was such a great, nice day! However with the nice weather came more 911 calls, seemed everyone was calling 911 today. It was so busy!!!!! I mentionied to my chief we should have the number changed to like a 19 digit number that none could remember that way no one would calls. He did not seem to enjoy that idea too much, oh well there always the mickey antenna toppers for all the rigs idea that i will try next time!!

DH hasn't filed state yet, just federal. Our return was HUGE, so I want to see what state is. We usually end up owing though. I think that's why he's procrastinating.

I wonder why warm weather means more 911 calls?

Hi all -

We got our return back too....we actually got money back from both fed & state...the first time that's ever happened! We just took the money & paid off the home equity line of credit...but we'll use it again for spring break....because we have such a good rate, we kinda use it more like a credit card than a loan, we used it to buy both cars even.....but it's nice to have it completely paid off...even if it's just for a month! haha

ok ENOUGH WITH THE SNOW already! We had at least 14 inches yesterday! The kids had a snow day, & drove me nuts!

The good news is I got a ding for my trip...I am now flying from Chicago to Houston (for $89), Houston to Ontario for $94 and Ontario Calif back home for $99....not bad I think

have a good one everyone....have to get out there & attempt to at least dig a path for the dogs to go potty!

Mich - I WISH Mike wouldve taken a snow day...it took him 3 hrs and 45 minutes to get from our house to the bank in Schaumburg! He totally should have stayed home.

I'm kinda excited....We went to 8th grade night at the high school Monday night....Casey was signing up for her classes scared1: is the my BABY going to high school!)...anyway...the band director had heard she was an oboe player...he came over to talk to us..she said she was planning on doingband...just not marching band...because well, there's no oboe's in marching band, and 2nd, she wasn't sure if she would have time with skating...he then told her that she didn't have to join, but if she wanted to he would find something for her to play..(like the tenor sax that she plays in jazz band)...and said " I don't know if this will influence your decision or not, but we're going to Florida for Spring break 2009 to march at the Magic Kingdom....."...here's me trying to remain calm....trying to not let me absolute excitement show...Casey doesn't even look up at me...she says to the band director "no way, seriously? I'm in" & THEN looked at me to see my grinning from ear to ear! So I get to watch her march down main street! I am beyond excited.....the first informational meeting is Tuesday the 12th so I'll know more then...of course we'll be going, whether it be as a chaperone or if I have to go by myself..grace & I...& this time even Mike will be there!

Nicole - tell us more about shoppign!!!!! what'd ya get????

Yay! Chris that's awesome! Awesome! Awesome!! My sisters band did that the same year I was working down there, that was really cool to see!

OMG NO WAY!!! They totally closed down Sals office in the AM, so no one had to go, it was a great little surprise! I don't think they were expecting so much snow to really come down because the day before the big boss stopped into Sals office and said "you have no excuse for not showing up tomorrow! hahahahha" and they joked about it b/c the Big boss drives in From St. Charles.

I AM OFFICALLY BOOKED AT DISNEY For AUG 13- AUG 21, STAYING AT CBR AND GOT THE DINNING PLAN TOO(PAYING FOR DISNEY DINNING, UNLESS IT COMES OUT FOR FREE)
I'm too excitied to sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called to just "ask" disney a question. Yep, "ask" thats my excuse, but after checking it out and getting such a great rate, how could i not book it??

I got,

9 nights at Cbr,
9 day park hopper for the family,
9 days of disney dinning,
trip insurance,

All for $2,200.
At first i thought she had to make a mistake, i kept asking and making sure the dinning package, park hoppers and room was all included and then she said yep and thats with the trip insurance. I still had to make sure and made her repeat it to me, making sure all this was for 2 adults and 1 child with the hoppers and the dinning.

How could i say no?????????? I maen they pratically twisted my arm.

I told dw that 3 goons named vito, tommy and salvatore stopped by the house and gave me a offer that i could not refuse, it was a "disney offer".

So unless a better deal comes out, looks like these are my travel dates!!

I;m not sure dw bought the whole" goons" story, but she seemed excitied as well

I come to conclude over the years that when it gets nice out more people go out instead of staying home in the cold. Therefor more vechiles on the streets means more car accidents and more people on the streets means more assaults and fights.

The warmer it is the more assaults or car accidents we do, the colder it is the more fires we do and when its cold and snows then we get more car accidents too.

Ever eat at Garden Grill? We really, REALLY liked it when we had it in Sept - and ended up doing it again this past trip.

So much Italian food - and you live in NY!!! Dont you get enough of that, there???

If youre interested - Teppinakyi (or however you spell it) we used the washrooms there in January - after the remodel , and its rreally REALLy nice in there... looks very sleek and cool.
