i am considering booking a trip for DW in January but I know the Pop warner Cheerleading Comp is during this time and they stay at value resorts. Is it crazy at the parks with all those annoying teens?

Pop Warner is the first week in December. :)

In January you have other cheerleading competitions and the big tour groups. Idk how crazy it gets but the crowd calendars for late Jan. look good so we booked a trip for late Jan. and we are hoping for the best…we are also staying at POP

It's not Pop Warner, but the cheerleader competitions and large tour groups will be at both the value resorts and some of the mods. This will certainly ramp up the annoyance factor at the affected resorts. They won't have much impact on the crowd levels in the parks, but may try your patience when you run into them there. The best advice is to head in another direction of you encounter them.

We stayed at ASM during a cheer comp. once. The parks were fine. The issue for us was the practices all over the resort grounds. That was many years ago so maybe that has changed.and the food court was really crazy.

Pop Warner REALLY is a NON issue! I'm Childless by Choice and I have at least 6 stays in December in the *same* resort as PW. I find the kids very well behaved and chaperoned.

Yes, it makes the food courts more busy, but nothing horrible.

NOW, the cheer competitions (NOT PW) in late April/early May are another matter entirely..... loud cheering on the grounds. Security had to come to the rooms around me every night. Very self focused and rather obnoxious--the kids AND the moms. I was also taken aback at how scantily clad (minimal sports bra and SHORT spanx) the younger girls were in the food courts (of course, WITH the moms).

I can definitely agree with the kids that were staying at Sports late April this year. I made the mistake of booking a standard room and was put in the hoops hotel 3rd floor, right next to all of the loud obnoxious teenagers. Security was called several times as the kids were really out of hand. I have been during POP Warner and found the kids to be better behaved.
I just looked at the ESPN website and don't find any cheering competitions going on in January? Only POP Warner in December.

It is my understanding that there is "Cheer Week" each year the end of April .

Are cheerleaders staying at POP Century over MLK weekend? No ressies available there, but we are booked at PORFQ and are trying to switch to POP.

PW in December 14 was manic offsite, the Raddison at Celebration was so busy with kids running through corridors, where as POR was nice and quiet. I think it is hit and miss.

Once the teams drop out of the competitions, the parks tend to get busier
