We've booked a trip to BW the first week of December (12/2 thru 12/7), and someone just told me that's Pop Warner week. What does that actually mean? More little football players running around? :cheer2: We are six adults of the grandparent age, and we don't plan to go on the fast or scary rides. Pretty much we want to see all the wonderful Christmas decorations.

Thanks!

More kids, and groups of Pop Warner cheerleaders, too. Really didn't have any problems with them, but got a little tired of hearing cheers in the queues.

While you may notice some groups of kids in the parks (most noticeable are cheerleaders, since they seem to wear their cheerleading outfits 24/7 :rotfl2: ), the major impact for resorts will be at the values, not the deluxes. :thumbsup2

We've been several times during Pop Warner week and if I hadn't known about the event from these boards, I wouldn't even have known it was happening. We always stay at the BWV.

As already posted, the Pop Warner people stay at the value resorts and spend most of their time at the Wide World of Sports. If you do encounter a group of them in the parks, they are easy to avoid (IMHO).

Disney usually does close one park early one evening so that the PW folks can have a privbate party - but again, it's easy to spend the evening somewhere else.

We have been there several times too, and the only effect we saw was that the MK was a bit busier than we expected. Other parks were fine.

I'm another vote for "if I didn't know PW was going on, I never would have guessed". The crowd level is quite nice. I will concur that you will, no doubt, want to staple a few cheerleaders mouths shut:rotfl: ....but it's managable. From what I gather, they tend to book the value resorts.
It's a great time of the year to go:santa:

Most only stay for the events then leave but some will make a small vacation out of it and you may see the crowd levels higher on the few days after it... last year it ended on Thursday for the most part. We di see higher crowds in the parks on friday and they did close MGM early for a private party. I did not see any problems not even cheers....

Another "Didn't know Pop Warner was going on". I've been there twice during Pop Warner week, and both times I totally forgot until I saw teen or preteen girls walking around the park with rollers in their hair. Apparently they were to be "on display" that evening. I thought it was kind of cute.
