Pop Warner 2009...what week?

i just book POR dec 3-6 with 2 small children. Do you think it would be better to switch to POFQ since its a smaller hotel? or will it not make a difference. I specifically chose my dates trying to avoid the crowds.

They are not staying at POR this year. They will be at the All Star (Sports mostly) and CSR.

Also the parks will not be overrun with these kids, it is the resorts that will be crowded. They are in competition for the most part during the days that they are there.

I just tried to confirm which mod Pop Warner will be at this year and CRO seemed rather befuddled by the question. So I switched our ressie to AKL.

CRO isn't going to release information on where a group is staying. I believe this is a private event (not open to the general public), so they will probably not release any information on it.

It was kind of funny. The CM I spoke to looked something up and said yes, Pop Warner will be at CSR. Then she said it was for some other dates, not December? She put me on hold to go talk to someone in group reservations, then came back and said they don't know which resorts Pop Warner will be in. OK, fair enough. DH and I decided to switch to AKL and be done with it.

I have found several threads that say they will be at CSR this year, so I'd rather just switch now before availability gets tight. AKL is our favorite anyway.

When of our posters here on the Dis is a Pop warner Mom.She has said so far it is the All stars and CSR for this year. IF they expand to other resorts , maybe she will post again maybe not.Disney itself will not give out that info

The moderate they are staying in is CSR this year. They were thrown out of POR.

And to the poster that says it doesn't matter, because WDW is full of kids has never been down there during PW week.

I made the mistake one year of going later in the week and will never do it again. It is not just the kids; it is the parents. They leave their children in the care of the chaperones and act like sailors on leave. I was at POR one year, and security had to be called every single solitary night in the lounge. Staff practically walked out, due to the behavior of everyone. I wrote a letter to PW about all of the horrible things that went on, but never got a response. I am happy to see POR will no longer let them stay there, and they have been booted over to CSR. They will tire of them too.

I hear last year a guy was arrested....you don't see that very often at all at WDW, so I would consider it a big deal.

Thanks for the info. We originally wanted CSR, but there were no standard rooms available on 12/6 so we opted for CBR. Maybe no standard rooms = Pop Warner...

It got a lot worse than that.2 Teams were sent packing after a Brawl in the All stars Food court.It was pretty significant

We were there last year 12/6-14 and I thought it was BUSY not only at the resort (POR and for sure in the food court and pool area) but also the parks!!!... we typically go Nov 26 ( fly in on Thanksgiving day and stay until the following weekend (Dec 5th ish) thanksgiving weekend is busy and then slows down... to compare... I think that the POP warner week was much more crowded!!!! I WOULD AVOID pop warner week unless I was there for pop warner!!!

I too thought there were lots of kids that were not being supervised and not behaving how I would hope my kids would be if I wasn't around them... and I wasn't to happy for my kids to see they way some were behaving!

My opinion was that there were a lot of parents (aka supervision of such kids) that were busy enjoying themselves (aka having a few to many cocktails) while the kids did their own thing-- this was at the resort... at theparks lots of groups of kids with no adults around going from ride to ride and not really paying attention to the fact that they were out in public and being, well rude and not a good example of "teens". Pushy, not using the best language, a lot fo "budging" (as my 5 yrs old calls it; a few would in line and then a whole group would budge up to them!!!) I saw that happen several times!!!

I WOULD NEVER go during POP warner week... for sure never would want to stay at a resort that they are at... and would prefer not to see them in the parks!

And I have 2 kids but we travel with 6 kids of all ages... who are in sports and travel with teams... that kind of behavior would not be accepted!

I just checked the dates online and it said that they would be there between Saturday December 5th to Saturday December 12th. I'm not sure if anyone else has posted these dates yet on here.

They typcally stay at All-Stars, when All-Stars fills up they spill over to Port Orleans. This past Dec. when my family and I were there 2 teams were kicked out and banned from WDW property after starting an all out brawl in the food court. Players, coaches, and even parents were involved that is why I stay far away from these resorts when Pop Warner is going on.
The thing to remember though is if games are going on the Pop Warner kids and cheerleaders will not be at the parks .

Boy, it is really confusing. I just called reservations again for another reason and while I had them on the phone I asked again. She put me on hold, went to check, came back and also said Dec 7-11 - like the previous CM I spoke to.

Ok now I'm starting to get nervous!! I'm planning a girls only no kids long weekend trip dec 11/14. Stayin at a value ( for the cheaper cost). I just priced it n allstar sports had openings but thinkn that aint the place we want to be now. Hoping that maybe another value would be a better bet. Oo man let's to think about now!!!

I look at it this way...When I am at Disney my attention is 100% on my child and my family and the fun we are having. If there is a problem in line or with language I will talk to someone about it. If it's something that's not directly affecting my child then I will ignore it. How many misbehaved PARENTS are there at Disney at any given time? There will ALWAYS be great kids, irritating kids, irritating adults and sticky situations. Everyone's there to have fun and frankly, I find it very easy to ignore those people around me whom I find irritating. And believe me, I'm NOT a patient person.
