Does anyone know what week Pop Warner will be at WDW in December 2009? Will it be Nov 29-Dec 5th? or Dec 6-12th? When it is typically announced? Thanks for your help.

ETA- I just found the other thread that someone started on this same topic. Looks like the best guess is Dec 6th-12th. Sorry for the duplicate post.

December 6 - 12.

If you want to avoid the group, stay away from Port Orleans and the All-Star resorts. That's where they typically stay.

OH NO! We picked these dates to try and avoid crowds- !!!
How bad are the crowds at MK at this time during the pop wrner thing? Are there a million little kids everywhere???

We were there in 2008 during Pop Warner, and we barely saw the kids. There were a few groups of about 6-8 at MK one afternoon, but nothing horrible.

During the days of competitions, they should be at the sports complex, not at the parks, but the food courts and pools will be mobbed at night at ASSports and Port Orleans (Riverside, right?) On the days without competitions expect little mobs running around barely chaperoned, and long lines at the busses for the resorts they are staying at. This is typical of most organizations at WDW, BTW.

We've been there during PW week the last 3 years in a row. We've rarely run into crowd issues at all - just the occaisional group in line for a ride in the evenings. We noticed no big spike in overall crowds. If you're not staying where they are, you may not even realize they're there. :)

Thanks! We'll be at the BWI, so I think we'll be ok!
Plus, during our dates, they'll be competing 2 of the 4 days we'll be in the park, whew!:yay:

Does anyone know if they stay in Pop Century, or do they just stick to the All Stars and POR?

It's Disney World...aren't there supposed to be a million little kids everywhere? It's not an adults only resort. A friend of mine had the chance to accompany a cheerleading competition group to Disney last year. They were in competitions ALL day, were there for a week and only had a chance to visit AK for half a day. So, I wouldn't worry about it.

Is there a way to know for sure which resorts they will be at this year?

I have heard the kids are at AllStars and one moderate...maybe PO or CSR, not sure which one.
Other than there being crowds at the food courts, you really don't notice their presence. I was actually at ASMusic at the same time as the PW kids a few years back. I would never have known they were there if I hadn't seen them in the food court. Yes, there were a jillion of them in the food court, but they were mostly polite and well mannered.
They just were not a presence in the parks. Sometimes you might see a group of teens after 7 or so, but it wasn't a big deal.
I have been to WDW at the exact same time as the PW kids for about 5 years now and it has yet to present any issue.

I agree...we were there last year during PW week, stayed at SoG, and if I hadn't read The Dis before we went, I never would have known they were there. I was actually disappointed when I learned (I think I was the one who started said thread) that we wouldn't be there during PW week this year...the crowds in the park were AWESOME last year...granted, we don't do the BIG rides like the Mountain rides (little kids), but the longest we waited for anything was 45 min for Tink...the longest we waited for a RIDE was like 15 min. My DH and I did get to ride Ex Ev. at AK one evening and walked right on the ride! I LIKED PW week! LOL!

I'm sooo glad I am the only one who feels this way-Its really annoying here-unless its one of their kids they are discussing about their lil princess at the BBB or their sons pirate adventure. For everyone to say how much they love disney its alot of compaints about KIDS. weird. Must be Croc loving Tshirt wearing good ol'american PTA moms!!!

i just book POR dec 3-6 with 2 small children. Do you think it would be better to switch to POFQ since its a smaller hotel? or will it not make a difference. I specifically chose my dates trying to avoid the crowds.
thanks
