Which room would you choose and why? Pop Century or Art of Animation Little Mermaid????

For the price, Pop Century. The layout of the rooms are the same. Just the theming is different. Unless you're a Little Mermaid ultra fan...I'd save the money and do Pop Century. The rooms at Pop have recently been renovated and they're very nice. That's just me.

I’d pick Pop.

I’ve stayed in preferred rooms and standard rooms at Pop and I’ve stayed in a LM room once. That was enough for me. I did not enjoy the walk to the main building.

Our next trip we picked AOA over Pop. Our DD's have always wanted to stay there but the cost was so much more than the other values and they only had full beds, that I kept saying no! But this trip the cost is just a little above Pop, so we will be staying at AOA in the newly refurbed rooms. Walking at a resort doesn't bother our family, whatever resort we stay at we always like walking through it to enjoy the theme.

Echoing posts above - Pop all the way.

TLM rooms are dated, dingy, and not worth the far walk from buses. The Pop refurbed rooms have officially spoiled me for hotel stays. I now can't stand carpet in rooms.... the dirt... yuck

I'll be the voice of dissent and say AoA Little Mermaid rooms. My 10 and 8 year olds LOVED AoA and I liked it quite a bit more than Pop. Now, granted it's been over a decade since I've stayed at Pop, but I'm not basing my opinion on the actual rooms (although Pop was just refurbished and AoA is getting refurbed now or recently done so they should both feel updated). I'm basing it on the atmosphere (much prefer AoA with theming, layout), pools (AoA wins) and QS dining (Pop feels much more like a cafeteria than AoA with it's smaller sections and theming). We didn't find the walk to the LM section an issue at all at AoA, even at the end of the night. At least it was a straight shot and we weren't always getting lost like at POR!

Even after looking at the LM refurb, I am POP all the way!

I am a solo traveler who stayed at Pop in Feb and I LOVE the new room! The Murphy bed stayed in the cabinet the whole time and made the room feel so much more open. The refreshment center with coffee and fridge made for more drawer space in the dresser and a vast empty dresser countertop with multiple outlets. Loved the cubbies and little closet in the bathroom and the hand held shower head! And almost best of all - the safe in the dresser that lays flat!! No precariously stacking soft, unstable things upright in a shallow wall safe.

And boy howdy did I feel all the walking this year! Don't be an out of shape old lady! But even with a standard room at Pop, I requested and got 70s and was still not far past the Preferred rooms.

Unless you have someone who really really wants the LM theming, I say POP.

Little Mermaid rooms are now refurbished - if they weren't completely done before the shutdown, then they're at least mostly completed.

We stayed in a LM room back in October, before the refurb, and really liked it. We were in building 7 which is one of the first buildings while walking through the Lion King section, and its on the water side so we were close to the path to the Skyliner. It doesn't save a ton of time, but you can walk the sidewalk along the parking lot to the bus stop as well. We didn't find the walk to Animation Hall or the Nemo pool to be as bad as we expected, based on reports we had read about it. We're two able-bodied adults, so I can see where it would be a haul with kids or elderly. Its true that its not the most convenient, but it wasn't as prohibitive as we expected.

Compared to Pop, we like the theme at AOA more, but the resorts are otherwise comparable. Depending on the room type you book at Pop, you could end up in a room in a similar location as that of the LM rooms at AOA. I thought Pop had better food offerings, and I believe the room is a bit cheaper as well. I don't think you can go wrong with either resort.

Pop Preferred room. The walk to Little Mermaid is a trek after a long day at the parks or if you want to run to the food court real quick..

And just remember POP and AoA are basically one BIG Resort(other than no Pool Hopping privileges)-we always treat it that way when staying at POP-use first bus(POP or AoA) when returning from the Parks, dine at Everything Pop and Landscape of Flavors, hang out at Petals and The Drop Off,etc. :)

I've stayed in both and definitely preferred POP. I hated the walk back to the LM rooms and only hearing "I can't wait to be king" and "Under the sea" on the bus got annoying fast. The shower felt small too.

If your a fan of the little mermaid or theming it's an easy choice. Art of animation hands down. If that doesn't matter to you then go to pop its a cheaper room and you still have access to the skylinner

POP saves a pinch of money, but looking at its "theming" of garish giant bowling pins was a downside to our lovely LM rooms. We could go out our door and see the Skyliner (my kids loved to watch), but I would see POP across the way and shudder. But somehow, giant Disney characters was magical for us. LM rooms are a bit of a walk, but we loved passing through the other areas, too, and my 5yo DD never got over seeing Ariel at that pool every time we left our room. They also offer the nice waterside walk to the Skyliner. I get that they're supposed to be one large resort, but I would never make the effort to walk from one to the other just for food. And I loved the PB breakfast smoothies at Landscape along with some vegan dinner scramble I had one late night. We were happier in two LM rooms with four beds than staying in a family suite with three beds in the other sections of AoA YMMV.

We always request the "Shudder View" when staying at POP. :)

Just kidding-different strokes and all that stuff-we find both Resorts to be awesome and very unique properties(if you have never checked out the Shadow Boxes in Classic Hall-they are one of the most unique things at any WDW Resort).

"Shudder View" at POP:)

What are opinions on Pop vs AoA LM when a second room is booked in AoA Nemo?
mostly concerned with walking distances for elders. They would be meeting up a lot, food, bus/skyliner

Caribbean Beach State Correctional Facility Bldgs 35-39.
That makes me LOL every time!!

For the record, I only stayed there once, with some girlfriends for a race. The rooms felt like a Howard Johnson and I despise the outside doors. But the grounds were nice. Except when I discovered I’d gotten some of that “tainted” JIF peanut butter....you don’t realize how FAR it is to the main building until you’re looking for Imodium.............🤣🤣🤣
