Pop to Poly for early breakfast

I'm trying to figure out how we would get from Pop to the Poly by 7:30 when the MK opens at 9:00? If the bus to the MK starts running 60-90 minutes before the park opens, we can't get to the Poly by 7:30. I really don't want to rent a car for this trip, but this resort to resort transportation is a pain. Any suggestions?

The buses will be running to accommodate early morning ADRs, so you'd just need to grab a MK bus then boat or monorail over to Poly.I've read people recommend you tell the bus driver where you're going, and that he/she may just invite you to stay on and then drop you at the Poly after the MK stop. I haven't tried this myself, so YMMV.

If it were me, though, I'd take a cab from Pop to Poly. For one, you'll be able to grab a few extra winks in the morning (Always a plus in my book), and you won't run the risk of missing the morning bus. Buses in the early morning are not plentiful in my experience. It could be a good half hour before another one shows up if you miss the first one.

I had thought about a cab, any idea how much that would run? I really just want some Tonga Toast at Captain Cooks before we go to the MK for the day.

I read the messages here regularly some are to the point and helpful. Some will send you head spinning.

My advise go the to the source at DISNEYPARKS.com either contact them by email directly or use the moms panel. That way you'll get a answer directly tailored to question. Who should know better that Disney.

Sorry, but the moms panel is known to be very wrong a lot of the time. It is actually kind of sad. Disney does not assure any of their answers are right, if you read all of the fine print.

Easiest and fastest way to get to your ADR is with a cab. That is what we started doing a few years back, and it is so much more convenient than using Disney transportation and having to make connections. And sure beats Disney's time line of allowing 90 minutes to get to your ADR. With a cab it will take maybe 30 minutes.

A cab should cost around $20 or so.

You will find few people that have a better handle on Disney transportation than a lot of posters here! Most of us have been to WDW much more frequently than most, even the moms panel folks. Even better info than calling Disney. They will tell you that buses start an hour before park opening....very bad info.

Pop to Poly for 7:30 is going to be an issue. The buses start running by 6:30 every morning. If you manage to get on that first bus, you would be at the MK by 7, and them the monorail starts running by 7. It takes about 15-20 mins to get to the Poly from the MK. So you would be okay. But if timing is off more than 15 mins, you'll be late.
If you aren't on the bus at 6:30, ask to have a cab called. Tell the CM at Pop that you need to get to the Poly for a 7:30 ADR. You may get lucky and they could even offer to get you there in a Pop van. If not, you'll still be fine in the cab!

After 13 years on the Disboards, I can answer that question for you - fellow Disers would know better than Disney!

Thanks for all the replies. I'm starting to think that my Tonga toast might not be worth all the effort.

Oh, but it is! The Kona Cafe for breakfast has become a must do for my family! :)

Not a good recommendation, getting answers from Disney. Sounds like a good idea, but probably the worst.

Since you mentioned going to Captain Cook's (not Kona) you have a little leeway, right? Give it a try and if you find it's taking longer than you'd like, just stay at MK and don't head over to the Poly. (I assume you're trying to make rope drop?) You'll probably be fine.

Though I will say a cab and a sit down meal at Kona sound relaxing. Since you're getting up early anyway....

Definitely want to be at the MK by 8:30, that's why I was thinking Captain Cook's rather than Kona. A cab is really my only option, there is no way I'm going to catch a bus at 6:30, or I should say there is no way my DH is going to get up that early for some Tonga Toast!

Interesting... I'm at the same cross roads.. trying to get to Contemporary for a 7:05 adr from AoA... Sooo if what I'm reading is correct, no matter if I take a bus or taxi, we need to leave AoA by 630a? And the bus will be there at 630?

*On a side note, I spoke to Dining about this and they told me to take the bus (to a resort mind you) and then monorail... isnt there a path from TTC that may be quicker??

Buses start running at 6:30, does not necessarily mean a bus will be at your stop at 6:30. But be at your stop maybe at 6:20. And there is no walkway from TTA to the Contemporary, only to the Polynesian.

I wouldn't use a bus in that case. If one doesn't show up for 15 minutes, you will probably be late to your ADR. I wouldn't do any form of transportation except for a taxi. There simply isn't enough time if Disney doesn't start moving people until 6:30.
