Hi all,

I am trying to figure out if I should book the Steam Train tour for my husband but we will be without a car. So, I am trying to figure out if it is even possible to get a bus at Pop for MK (need to be at MK at 7:15 or should I just plan on a taxi. Also, does anyone know how getting a taxi there would work (I've never dealt with taxis before... ever) and around how much it would cost for a 1 way trip? TIA :flower:

From what Tyler (our transportation guru) says, busses start running from the resorts at 6:30. As long as you're on the first bus you should have no problem making it in time.

Like Tyler always says, the busses start running early so you should be fine. If you would try to use the taxi, they can not go directly to MK. They have to stop at the ticket center and from there you use ferry or monorail. That would not help you. A taxi would only work if you went to the Contempory and walked from there.

Thank you for the replies. I knew that the buses ran early, but with the park opening at 9 am I didn't think that they would start running at 6:30, but that is great. Anyone know how you go about calling for a cab at that time, how long it would take to get one there and about how much it would cost to the Contemporary... just in case the bus doesn't work out? I just want to have all the bases covered. TIA :flower:

All the Disney resorts have taxis right outside the main entrance. You will see a Cast Member at a podium. He/She will direct you to the next taxi. If for some reason there is not one waiting the CM will get one for you right away. Most taxi rides withing WDW are like $10-$15. At that early hour there would be no traffic so your cost would be on the lower side. I would guess the ride to the CR at maybe 15 minutes?

Just wanted to add that we have used the MK bus from the POP Century on 2 different trips to get to the Contemporary for early breakfasts at Chef Mickey's - 7 & 7:15 am. Wasn't a problem at all! :)

Thank you all so much for all of your help. I just booked it and I know that he will LOVE the tour. :goodvibes
