I will be travelling the end of August to POP w DH and DS6. Could you please suggest a room area that I should request. I don't want to be too far away from food court, pool or busses. We will not be renting a car so parking lot does not matter. Thanks in advance....

Preferred rooms are closer to everything so that might be a consideration for you.

We got a room in the 50's last time right by the parking lot. We loved the location.

we stayed in the 80's building, room 9134. It was close to the bus stops, pool, and food court, but I don't think it was a preferred room. Fairly quiet too.

The 50'3 building three is great. Right by the bowling pin pool, just a couple of minutes walk to the food court and parking right there (closer than food court)
Also if you ask for the backside of building 3 (icon is Tramp) overlooking the lake, you might get a room from which you can see some of the fireworks displays.
:teeth: :cool1:

Preferred rooms are in the 60's building which costs $10 extra p/night. In my opinion it's not worth the extra $$. The 50's and 70's buildings were close to food court.
Take a look at a resort map here: http://www.discount-tickets.us/walt-disney-world-hotels/pop-century/images/pop-century-map.jpg.

You'll see that the rooms in the 70's "B" building and the 50's "A" building are actually closer to the food court in some cases than some of the preferred rooms in the 60's.

We were in the 60's facing the pool more towards the back and those rooms in the 70's and 50's were actually closer

Actually it depends what part of the 60's building you're in. In some cases, you'll be closer in the 70's and 50's building, especially closer to the park lots, an advantage if you're driving.

We just returned from a week stay at Pop. We were in Room 3431 (Tramp, C, or 3 depending on who you talk to or map you look at) and we could be at the pool in 2 minutes, food hall and buses in under 5 minutes with a 6 and 9 year old. It was also very quiet, facing the lake and had a view of the fireworks side by side for Wishes and Illuminations. We were just as close to everything as half of the rooms in the preferred section. Plus, the flower pool was always busier and Petals was loud every night by the 60's section.

Have fun!
