I have a pop question (I mean soda, no...coke, no...pop...whatever). My DF (dis fiancee) HAS to have her Mountain Dew every morning. Its not a pretty sight when this fails to happen and she turns into Atilla the Blonde. Please tell me that Mnt Dew is carried on disney property. I ask this because I dont know if Disney has a deal with Coke or Pepsi like many chain restaurants or college campuses. Thanks for the help in advance.

Nope. Sorry, no Mountain Dew at Disney. : :sad2: My husband is a huge Dew addict and we usually stop before we get to our resort.

Coke has an elusive contract at WDW, so no Mt Dew. There's a grocery store right across from the entrance to the "world" near DTD. You could stock up there.

Nope...no dew. But as an avid Diet Pepsi drinker...I can sympathize. However, if you can buy some, and keep it in your room, you can always get food court ice and have it. This is what I do. :thumbsup2

If we werent riding the ME from airport to POP, I would. This really poses a problem. Hmmmm. I guess we'll just either have to buck up and buy the over priced airport Mnt Dews or figure out some way for her to like coffee in the next 12 days.

DH had the same problem. He had to get his caffine from regular Coke and was none too pleased. Though this year he has weened himself off the Dew, so it's a whole new ballgame for this trip! :) Good luck, I feel your pain!

I'm not sure what grocery store it is, but you can get groceries delivered. There may be a minimum though. Check on the budget board, they may be able to give you more info.

Some of the off-site pizza joints that deliver also have 2 liter bottles of dew.

If you were planning on having pizza delivered on any night, you can have them bring in the contraband!

NO, you DON'T!!!! See www.gardengrocer.com, www.wegoshop.com, www.goodings.com - all deliver to your room/resort for varying fees. IMO, Garden Grocer is your best bet; they have a $10 delivery charge (less than the other two) and NO minimum - although confirm that on the website before you finalize your order. Even if a twelve-pack is $5 (unlikely), that's $1.25 a can - plus you can order other stuff, even alcohol IF you're over 21, and in that case you MUST be in your room with proof of age to accept the delivery.

Can you not get a stop at a grocery store on the way or are you using ME ? Walmart sell it and DH buys it for the kids, but I cant drink it as I have to watch my caffeine intake :guilty: It is nice though

No. DME - Disney's Magical Express - provides transportation for about 50 Guests per bus, directly from the airport to the respective resorts (maximum four resorts per bus, no set routing).

You can bring a 12 pack with you. I packed pepsi One and water in a cooler and checked it with no problems! I then filled the cooler with ice, and just refilled it everyday and always had cold water and soda.

Ah, but did you fly or drive? I'd be really leery of packing anything carbonated in checked luggage. Get a seat just behind the wing on the righthand side of the plane (when you're seated) and watch them load luggage sometime... :teeth:

We're flying in. Ive seen the Southwest's "World Cup" baggage handling before (and even had to buy southwest-proof luggage just to make a return flight possible) so I figured taking a 12 pack in the checked bags is out. A 2 liter might make it ok but my DF says "Mnt Dew tastes weird in the plastic" so its cans only. Ugh. Im debating about even telling her now. She's a nurse so maybe she can just rig herself up a caffeine drip or something and get this whole thing out of my hair.

I would just use one of the online grocery places and have it delivered. It will be more expensive than normal but still cheaper than buying it at the airport. 20 oz bottles there are around 2.25 plus tax.

There are grocery store that deliver, that will be your best best. Or she could go cold turkey and wean herself off the sugar high. Mountain Dew is awful on the teeth.

I am a big Diet Pepsi addict. We do not use DME and instead we use a Limo service so we can stop at a Walmart. I buy a case of Diet Pepsi and other things. We have always had a small refrig in the room so it is nice and cold when I want one.

I think the idea of having it delivered would work well if you don't want to change from DME to renting a car or Limo service.

Hmm,,, another thing you could try is to post over on the Just for Fun/DisMeets board and ask if anyone with a car is going to be at your resort at the same time and if they would kindly pick up a keg or two (I hope I'm exaggerating, but on the other hand I don't know how I'm going to get through a week without my Diet Dr Pepper) of Mountain Dew for you.

Believe me if DW2B had a keg of that stuff she a) wouldnt have any teeth left and b) would constantly be doing keg stands.

Thanks for the ideas about online grocers but unless I was staying somewhere like OKW or in a villa, I dont know if I would splurge on something like that just for a couple liters of pop. That will come after I can talk her into DVC.

I still have yet to tell her (~10 days to go) about the no Mnt Dew thing. She likes the taste of Mnt Dew but moreover just needs the caffeine - thats nurses for ya. Ive heard the coffee is pretty much brewed through an old gym sock at most on site resorts but I'll drink about any coffee as long as its black. I might try to bring a bunch of those flavored creamers (which I know she likes) so in our refillable mugs every morning she can have something to retract her fangs with. (I do exaggerate a little bit but its impossible to get her going in the mornings w/o it)
