Hello!

Long story short I am looking at taking my mother on vacation (woman hasn't had one for 5 years, and lost my dad a year ago)

Right now it's just the two of us, looks like it is staying that way as I am the only sibling financially stable ATM.

I'm looking at two offers (I waited too long for free dining in everything except deluxe it looks like.......)

Pop - 9/23-9/30
7 Day tickets
$2300

Coronado Springs 9/23-9/30
7 Day tickets
$2800

I am likely to sign up for the Disney Visa, so take $200 off these prices and 6 month financing.

I stayed at Pop last year. It was fine for me. But It didn't have the "wow" factor I got from visiting other resorts.

1.) Will Pop have renovated rooms by September?
2.) Will the renovations at Coronado negatively interfere by then?
3.) Will any additional deals come up I should wait for?

I wouldn't wait, if another deal comes up, you can always cancel and snag it. As far as your other questions:

1. no one can predict when renovations will be complete
2. According to what you feel like interfering is. Will there be a big fenced off area? Yes. Will there be construction noise during the day? Yes. Will that interfere? Really depends on your tolerance.

Personally, I'd go with CSR but that is just because I'm not a fan of the value resorts. I don't like the small beds, I don't like the noisy crowded food courts and just the general business of the resorts. CSR is a peaceful resort, we were there in March and the construction had 0 effect on our visit but they were just tearing down the building at the time, I would think there might be a tad more noise when putting up the tower and I know the main bus stop is closed as well.

Keep checking for free dining. Last year, I was able to book a FD offer in July (right before the offer expired) for my mom to join us in December. I was shocked there was still any FD left. I assume someone must have cancelled their package and that is why it was available. You might get lucky and find a FD offer.

Haha.

Pop just became unavailable for my dates using the deal I was using.

So it's Coronado if anything. The big problem is getting my mother on the plane............

Sounds like the decision has been made...........for now.

keep checking, though, as jolene63 said, offers sometimes become available later. I would book something now so that I had something in place. Later you can change or cancel if something better is offered.

This is one time that I would request Ranchos at CSR as it is furthest away from the construction, I believe.

Good luck!!!

We've stayed at POP and CSR and love both but I would choose CSR! It's so relaxing and our favorite pool area(even considering deluxes)!
