POP-MK Monorail-Ferry Question

We are first timers staying @POP. Although I rented a minivan and I intend to drive to the parks, I would love to ride the Monorail or one of the Ferry boats at least once!
Which will be the best way to reach MK, leaving from POP and finally using Monorail or Ferryboat?

I've never been there but I have been reading a little on books, guides and the DIS... A couple of questions about the options I may have:

1) Can I drive to EPCOT, park there, and then take the monorail to MK?
2) Can I drive to the TTC and then take the ferry boat?

As we are first timers, we have no idea about reaching MK, other than taking the POP bus to MK...

Easy! Drive from POP to the MK parking lot. You will then take either a ferry or monorail over to MK from the Transportation & Ticket Center. Returning to the parking lot, try the other means of transport so you get to try both.

TTC to MK: ferry boat or monorail

There is no parking right at MK, it's all by the TTC. If your aim is to ride the monorail you can drive and park at TTC. Watch the monorail closing times, it's been reported here that it's been closing down earlier than MK park closing some nights. Or you could just jump on the resort (Contemporary, Poly, Floridian) monorail at MK and loop back to MK or resort hop for lunch.

If your aim is to get as close as possible to MK, the resort bus from Pop (and all the other resorts) drop you just outside the gates about 50 - 75 yards (? - never measured it) beyond where the boat or monorail from TTC would drop you off near the MK gates. The MK is the one park where it's quicker and closer to take resort transportation than driving.
