Not sure of the best time other then the earlier the better, what we usually do if it is crowded is take breakfast back over to the pool area and get a table there, it is more peaceful.
we were always down to breakfast around 8 to 8:30 and never had an issue.....They had some great breakfasts and there is apple juice on the refillable mug stand......kids would love that too...
I went down to pick up breakfast b/w 7:30 and 8 a.m. and there were no lines at the stations and plenty of seats. The next morning my DH went down closer to 8:30 - 9 a.m. and he said it was a zoo.
We usually head down by 7:30 or 8am and it's usually easy to manage then. We did breakfast once close to 9 and it was a bit more crowded but nothing terrible.

We haven't been to Pop yet (planning our first stay this coming December), but I thought they had discontinued the apple juice from the fountains?
My kids love apple juice, so I'm just curious!
PoP is our favorite place to stay, and we have eaten when the place seemed to be popping at the seams. But the great thing was, we always found a clean table to sit at, and the lines, as long as they were, only took a few minutes to get through. The CM's there work very hard, and it shows. Great food, clean tables, and quick registers. I hope you and yours have a great time!!
P.S. You have to get a piece of Tie Dyed cheesecake when at the PoP. It is their signature dish you can't get anywhere else. It's right up there with getting a Dole Whip at MK, or a Turkey Leg, it's just one of those things you gotta do.
Where did the poster that said the tie die cake is gone get their info from?
I am so looking to try this in Dec, I have seen pictures in the new "porn" thread. So when did they stop if they did?
They still sell the tie dyed. There are times where it is near/at the ice cream station on the far left of the food court. At other times they also have them in the to go section in the back corner between the two main cooking stations.
They must have brought it back - last year they stopped serving it for awhile, my understanding is it was due to Disney's ban on trans-fats, so maybe they got a new recipe.
I think the Twinkie Tiramisu is definitely gone though
