Please forgive me if I have asked this before. I have had to change our trip so many times, I forget what I have and haven't asked. We are probably going to stay at Pop next year and I have been thinking about possibly doing 2 rooms, but they have to be connected with a door. How do I do this? It will be myself, dh, dd10, and dd6. Will they guarantee this? I thought it might be nice to have the extra space instead of staying at a mod this time. With 3 girls, we really need 2 bathrooms. Anyways, how do you go about booking this and how do you guarantee it?:confused3

I don't think you CAN guarantee this, but Disney has always tried to fulfill our requests. Our last visit to POP we did get connecting rooms. If you ask when you make the ressie, they will add in your preference. I have also called the resort during the last week before arriving and checked that they know of my request. One year at Dixie Landings, I was amazed when I got the exact room number that I had asked for. Best of Luck!

Don't stress if they don't "guarantee" it- they will make sure your family is together. We have done this before. They won't officially give you a guarantee but they will put you in connecting rooms.

Will they guarantee this?

I can only share my experience. I booked 2 rooms for 3 children, my husband, and myself. I wanted conencting rooms (door inside that opened to connect the room). The CM making my ressie said of course we guarantee connecting rooms for familiies - and that is exactly what my confimration said "guaranteed connecting rooms" (this was for OCT 2006). I chickened out after reading here about about people not getting connecting rooms, and booked a family suite.

YMMV!

I can let you know next week. I've requested adjoining rooms for this family vacation since there are 5 of us. The reservations were made through a travel agent with that request. We are celebrating the birthday of a "little" brother and both sisters live in different states and weren't certain that both could get the time off. Anyway, we booked about a month ago and did request connecting rooms. We were told that it would not be guaranteed, however, your scenario is different in that your children are minors. (Because the ressie was made through an agent, I don't think I can call ahead to "gently remind" Disney of our request). Here's hoping we each get our wish!:yay:

Disney won't guarantee connecting rooms if there is more than 1 adult in the travel party but be sure and request connecting rooms anyway. PS the earlier that you arrive to check in the more chances are of moving you to connecting rooms if you have not been assigned connecting rooms. (There are more "unassigned rooms" earlier in the day.) Have a wonderful trip!!

Thanks for all of the replies. Me and dh will have to have a talk about what we want to do. We might just get a family suite at the all stars. I really wanted to stay at Pop this time though.

Stay at Pop! Don't let the comments scare you off that easy.

Do the suites have 2 bathrooms?

We requested connecting rooms at the Pop last May. We were told they were they were guaranteed because we have two minor children. We got them no problem.

Yes the Family Suites do have 2 bathrooms.

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) in Sept. of 2006.

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.
