Hey
We are staying at the Pop Century this April and I was wondering wich decade s best (50,60,70,80,90) :flower: I think 60's looks fun! But which one is closest to the lobby etc..
Thanks
Nicole

I stayed there last May and will be staying there for part of our trip this May...
Last year we were in the 70's and found the location to be close to the lobby and bus area. I also would prefer not to stay in the 90's or even the 80's for that matter. For one if you have a room on the back side of the 90's you can see a main road (I know it's not a big deal but I don't prefer it, crazy me would rather view a parking lot then a road) also they are in the back of the resort, I like to be close to the FOOD and lazy me hates to walk any further then I have to after a long day in the parks...But who knows I may get the 90's this time and love it, so it's really all personal preference and remember no matter where your room is located or what your view is of, a Disney vacation will always be a magical one and you will have a great time!!!
Also keep in mind the rooms are the same size and set up in all the decades..

No you can't choose but you can request what decade you would prefer but there is no definate you will get it..Another way to be sure you are near the lobby is when you book ask for a preferred room, the price is alittle more but then you are guaranteed to be close to the lobby....I have never had a problem getting close to the lobby at any of the values and I never paid extra. :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

The 60's is the closet but the 70's and 50's are close enough to the main lobby to make paying for a preferred room at 60's not worth it.

The 80's is closest to the parking lot, if you are driving.

The 90's is just kind of...out there...

I stayed in the 90's on my last trip in August. It was far from everything! At first, it seemed to take forever to get to the food court or the busses, but I eventually got used to it. However, when you're tired at the end of the day and get off the bus, it sure would be nice to stay a bit closer!

We stayed in the 90's section in December and loved it. It was quite a little hike to get to, but the icons and the view of the Computer pool and everything was great. If you are someone who needs coffee asap in the morning etc. then it might be a problem, but we really liked it and it was so quiet which to me is most important when you are trying to sleep and keep kids asleep.

If you ask to stay in the 60's section when you make your reservation, it will be considered booking a preferred room. This will cost an extra $10 per night but your reservation should be guaranteed for the 60's section.

If you don't want to go preferred, request the 50's if you have a car and the 70's if you want to be closer to the bus stops. These requests are not guaranteed and you could still end up being placed elsewhere.

For our vacation at the end of May, we requested 50's or 70's which were both full, so we were upgraded to the 60's at no add'l cost.

Stayed in the 90's in feb., if you're willing to cut across a parking lot the walk to Classic Hall wasn't bad at all. It was a lot closer than the walk from the Broadway Bldg at ASMU, which isn't even the furthest away section there. Believe me, I'm not someone who's into walking after doing so all day at the parks; I've paid the extra $ to stay in the preferred sect. at ASMU just to avoid long walks. I don't feel it's necessary at Pop.

I've stayed in the 80's twice, and our room was further away from Everything Pop than the 90's building. But I did get our King bed, so couldn't complain too loudly. Just here on the DISboards. LOL

PS. Pop is the only value I've stayed in and we do like it a lot!
