As many times as I have gone to Disney, I have never stayed at (or even checked out) Pop Century. Can anyone give me any reccomendations on which bldg to request? I don't want the 60 since that is the preferred. I just want to be near a pool & not a mile from the food court. Thanks.... :teleport:

i just came back yesterday from pop i stayed in the 70s that was not preferred but close to the food court and bus stops i stayed in room0215 hope this helps!!!

that is the bldg that I originally requested, but am having second thoughts since there is no "pool" there. They have the water-jet play area & my 16 year old will be with me & she wants to "sun" by the pool (we live here in SW FL with our own pool that she never "sun's" by  , must be the guys at the pool :D ), so I was thinking of switching my request to the 50's. How far of a walk is it to a pool area from the 70's? I liked the idea of the big Mickey phone icon & I am an early 70's teen.... not saying my age

We stayed there right after Thanksgiving for 7 days, and I did like the views. We were in the preferred building with Baloo facing the pool. You can see the fireworks at night ( I think they were from Epcot) and you can hear ( and feel) them going off. It was really cool. Although we had a great time, our mousekeeper didnt do any magical towel animals, and I truly did not like the food choices all that much,( we really liked all star movies food when we stayed there 2 yrs ago) except the peanutbutter and fluff sandwiches they were yummy. We did take a walk around the whole resort and it was really nice, especially near Hourglass lake. Being near the pool wasnt all that noisey. The staff was VERY nice as well as the life guards, they actually interacted with the children. The pools do have some blow up balls, and little rings, which was nice. The pool temps were really warm and the pools were clean. The rooms were your typical value resort rooms.
On a scale 1 to 10 I give it a 7.

We checked it out last year for our stay this winter --- 11 more days.
We are requesting 50 building - it is the building on your right side of the food court --- and bus stops. We are requesting building A Or C --- They are not directly around the pool but the first batch of bldg before the pool - We are requesting ground floor --- room 1112 (corner room) - 1107 ( center of bldg A) - Hope this helps....We have a 3 year old and hope he can just step out and enjoy the grass ---- we have 12 in snow/ ice and below zero temps for high today.... so be nice to not have to worry about the pool or steps... :cool1:

NO, NO, NO, you do not want a room facing the pool, it's SO LOUD!! Maybe we just got a bunch of late night squealing kids every night for 7 nights past midnight, but I would never face the pool again.
