If you were going to request a building at PC but not the preferred building what is the next best one. I figure I should go ahead and request to see what happens. What buildings are closet to the dining area besides the preferred ones.
 :bounce: :Pinkbounc :earseek:

Unless thee is a specific reason (handicap. etc) I can't see any reason for requesting at Pop and I'd certainly never pay extra for a so called premium location...It's just the nature of the budget resorts that things are pretty much equal no matter where you are (IMO).

Obviously, you have never stayed in "The Boot" at All Star Music!:)

At the POP, buildings 1 & 3 (50's A & C) and buildings 6 & 10 (70's buildings A & B) are actually better than either of the 60's buildings.

I don't think the buildings are all the same, location wise. I would never want to stay in the 90's section, or 80's either. They are too far from Everything PoP and one is too close to the parking lot. I like it to be more peaceful back at the room, so we loved room 6224, 70's section. A little view of the lake, short walk to EP and a little longer to the parking lot on those 2 occasions we made that trip (unloading & reloading the car). I would stay in 50's or 70's. We thought that place was really fun!! Also, if there is a reason to request a room anywhere, Pop Century would be one of those places...at check in they ASK you if you have a "favorite decade" and try to locate you there. Theming is one reason to request.

I stayed in the 50's section building C and it was very close to everything. It was just a 3-4 minute walk to the food court or a 5 minute walk to the transportation area. I was very happy with the location of my room 3102. It didn't take long to get to where my car was parked either, maybe 3-4 minutes.

we requested the 50s building because upon showing my children the map and photos from deb's site, they both were desperate to be near the bowling pin pool! it literally bowled them over (LOL @ me!)... and i like that it's close to everything as well :)

The 70's are the closest. Everything Pop and the bus stops are on that side of Classic Hall.

There is even an unofficial shortcut through the shrubbery by the bus stops ;)

I have reserved Pref rooms, do you guys think that is a waste??? The map was a big help, I think I will change to 70's and use that $10 a day for something else.

We were just at Pop Century and had rooms for three nights in the 90s and three nights in the 70s. I really didn't mind the 90s. We drive a lot and it is convenient to parking as well as the computer pool. I really liked the 70s, although the parking situation was not easy on the late nights we came back. One thing to consider is a request is just that, a request. You can request the 70s and not get it. If you book the 60s you are guaranteed that. For me, it wouldn't be a concern because I was happy in the 90s building, but if you are really really expecting to be right next to Everything Pop! the only way to guarantee that is to book the preferred rooms. Good luck.
