Pop century

I will be staying at Pop for the first time in September, so this was all very helpful to read! I also had a question. When doing online check in, I would like to be close to transportation - is there a specific building any of you would suggest? I have no idea which one to choose. I tried to figure it out by looking at the map but I couldn't really judge how far away things were.

First time at Pop in October and looking forward to it. Thanks for all the great comments!

Pretty much what everyone else has said. With a lot of research, it was the first resort we chose to visit. Now, it's going to be hard to ever try another resort. We're hooked on Pop. Hourglass Lake, Generation Gap Bridge, 4 floors instead of 3... I think those are the main things that set it apart from the other value resorts, but we love the serenity of the whole resort and just walking from our room to the food court is something my wife and I always mention when we're talking about our next trip. It definitely has a happy Utopia feel to it.

IllumiNations from Generation Gap Bridge

I've always called POP a "ValMod".:)

One thing you should do while staying there is take an evening stroll across generation gap bridge and visit AOA. The walk alone is very nice and peaceful.

Ot but just realized are dates are pretty identical. We will be there from 8/21 to 9/6. On a bounce back FD of course.

I'm sure we'll see each other multiple times without even realizing it! :). I'm envious of your 17 days, but super excited because this is our first 2 week trip.

Me again!! I truly hope you enjoy "our" Pop it is so much fun movies at the pool on deck chairs, walks around reading the signs, quick hop to AOA across the bridge to enjoy their foodcourt and they have a fun resort shop too! The atmosphere is so fun too it is not always quiet munchkins are running around and laughing, I mean they are kids is that not what they are supposed to do??? Walt would be smiling I imagine as that was his main plan to go and enjoy together as a family :goodvibes it looks like they have brought Pizza back again,woo-hoo it is really good IMHO as well as Pop waffles in the am yes I know it's not Mickey but come on where else can you get a waffle with a POP emblazoned on it!? Also they have really updated the menu with what looks like yummy things on it too. The cm's at least 90% of the time are top notch cause yes everyone has an off day you just smile and move on! Nah, I don't love Pop at all! We head back home August 18 thru Sept 3 my Mum, DD17 and I can't wait! Have a most magical of trip when you go! :jumping1:

We have a trip booked in September. My husband, myself and my sister in law are going September 22nd-30th and my in laws are joining us from the 25th through the 30th. We originally wanted Coronado springs or Caribbean beach but opted for pop Century to save a little money. I'm worried it might be a little kiddish for 5 people over 19. How was your experience with PC? Any special tip or tricks about this resort? Would love to hear anything

Update- I guess kiddish wasn't the right terminology for a Disney trip (since I'm a big kid at heart lol). But my father in law wanted the moderate and we ended up having to do POP instead. So I was just curious what older generations had to say about it and personally I prefer the total in your face Disney immersion and I was a little worried this place lacked that :) but it does sound like a great place. Thanks for the comments and I Look forward to anymore tips anyone has :)

I find the theme at Pop appeals more to adults than kids. I love seeing all the old 70's memorabilia, reminds me of my childhood. :D

I agree with this. When we were there, DH and I were nostalgic at all the decor and the shadowboxes in the lobby. Our 12 yo was like "whats all this old stuff?"

I've stayed at POP a few times and until last year it was my favorite. I love the lake view, when frozen fireworks were going on we could see them perfectly from our room. Also, the bus service is pretty good for how many people were there. We were always standing but atleast we were on a bus. The thing that got to me last year was the food court, it was like all the rudest guests in the world were in there. Besides that it's a great place, we're mid twenties couple and never did we think it was too kiddish.

Is 70's Lakeview a good spot to request? We couldn't get 50's. We will have our car with us.

I am in my thirties, and I like Pop Century a lot. However, my favorite value is Art of Animation. If you choose Pop, you can also walk across and check out AoA (just not their pool.)
