We might be doing the next trip on the cheap so it'll be AllStar or Pop Century. We've spent 2 separate weeks at AllStar Music and were content, especially with the bus service which I'd rate superior to Por or S/D. What made this better was that each AllStar resort usually had it's own bus but a bus from one resort would service the other AllStars in a pinch. This might not have happened if the resorts weren't so close. Is Pop Century as well served by WDW transportation? Is there any reason I should not try out the new kid on the block?

Thanks,

I stayed at Pop in May and thought it was great. Granted I have never stayed at AS but my sister has (who I visited at Pop) and she likes both. I really liked the food court at Pop too.

We have stayed at both...Pop this past spring and AS resorts too many times to count.

The grounds at Pop are much nicer..the landscaping is beautiful.
We like the inside and outside bars..good if the weather is rainy.
More breakfast choices in foodcourt at Pop. Lobby much more exciting..looking around really takes you back..you would be surprised what you see..lol..we were anyway. If we would have had the kids with..they would not have known what most of it was..lol.

All stars..is a great place..we always love going there..and two of our favorite bartenders on disney property are at the sports.

We would stay at either again. They are both conveniently laid out, no matter what building you are in..just a few minute walk to all the action.

Pop Century is so much more enjoyable then the All-Star's!!! It's more of a moderate-lite like someone pointed out to me in another post. The overall layout of the resort is better, the rooms are furnished better (they improved on the All Stars), and the bus service is EVEN BETTER! Unlike the All-Star's which share buses very often, Pop Century does not and the buses come very often which makes for little or no wait even at peak times!

Go Pop and you'll never go anywhere else!

Pop is cheesy and I didn't expect much when I went, but I am a nostalgia junky--especially in the lobby---

Go for the Pop--You'll Enjoy it!

We have stayed at both and the only difference in the enjoyment factor was that at Pop it is harder to find parking. At least in our experience...:earsboy:

I'm trying to decide between AS Sports (which our 4 yo loves), Pop (which we would probably like a bit better), and Coronado (which costs a small bit more, but which grandmother would probably like better). We've only stayed at the AS options in the past (on tight budget). But because we got a postcard in the mail with special offer, we can stay at the moderates for only $30 more per night. Is it worth it?

What are the big differences? We don't spend a ton of time at the rooms when we have gone in the past, spending most of the time in the parks. The swimming pools seem nicer at the mod's, but if that is the only thing we might take advantage of, is it really worth it? If we stay at the mod's which one should we pick?

OTOH, if we stay value, would our 4y.o. like the things at Pop enough to justify the risk of him missing his beloved sports theme? Sorry for all of the questions. Clearly I'm having trouble with decisions. Tks.

I have not been to either one but by looking at the DisBoards there is a ton more reference to Pop than the All Stars and Pop has been open for less than a year.

Check out Tylers' thread.

monarch,

Oddly enough, CS is a possibility for us also. In the time frame we're looking at a moderate would probably be $80 vs the $55 or so a value would be. A deciding factor for us might be more adult dining and the presence of a bar/lounge in a moderate, two factors that won't mean much if you're packing a 4 yr. old.

My almost 3yr old LOVED POP. The theming is meant to make US smile and say "i remember that" but it is fun and colorful enough to really entertain the kids. My DD loved the POP JET and loved the kiddie pool. She also thought the bigwheel and Potatoe Heads were a hoot.

I'm tossing this around too.. we are doing a 2 day 1 night trip... POP or Movies.. POP or Movies.. We've only ever stayed at POP. Soooooo we'll see, she's a Dalmation FREAK!

Movies is cool--I would try it so that you can say you did--but the bus system won't be fun--it is the 3rd resort :(

We've stayed at both & loved both, but the parking is better @ Sports (we drive down from NH with a handicapped friend who has lots of equipment so we need to be close to the parking lot). Pop is newer & has an awesome food court. We've stayed in the 50's & 80's Buildings & enjoyed them both. A plus for us @ Sports is that the beds in the rooms can be moved together or closer to the wall to make more room, especially if you travel with kids. The beds @ Pop are secured to the floor and cannot be moved... they are also closer to the doorway, making the rooms look smaller. If space isn't an issue you'll love POP. It's cool to go back in time & see some of the things from your childhood! Enjoy your trip!!! Cathie:wave2:
