How can we request a quiet room at Pop Century ?
No need to be near the main pool - we are two older adults

I do not want a connecting door into a room - How do we request that ?
Can we get a upper floor too ?

What section do you recommend ?

You can call and simply ask for these requests to be noted on your reservation. You will also have an opportunity to select generic requests (i.e. high floor) during online check-in. Requests are not guaranteed. You stand a better chance of getting what you want by limiting your requests or making them as general as possible, and I also suggest having them list your requests in order of preference.

It seems the 90s section tends to be the quietest, but its also the furthest walk from the main building and Skyliner. If that's not a concern, I would call and have them notate something like "requesting 90s section, high floor, no connecting room". Or you can simply request "High floor, no connecting room" which may stand a better chance of getting those two things.

Book a standard room.
Do online check in and request highest floor and landscape or lake view.
In order to request NON connecting room you'd need to call/fax/email etc.
Remember they are REQUESTS so you may not end up getting everything you want.

Just call and request exactly what you described: "upper floor, not facing pool, no connecting door." :)

Non connecting door is our #1 priority

So should we just do standard or preferred - which would give us our #1 priority the best ?
Both rates are less than a deluxe or moderate :)

Should we use Dreams Unlimited to do our requests?

I believe there are more standard rooms than preferred, so I would suggest booking that for your best shot at no connecting door. Plus, preferred rooms are all in the 60s section which is in the middle of the resort where the main pool is, so I would not suggest that if you're hoping for a quiet section.

The standard it will be - we like the 50's area
We were both born in the late 50's
less expensive room too
We do not mind walking - we walk a mile with a large hill to go up and down every weekend in a local state park

Standard rooms could be in any section other than the 60s section. If you want the 50s section, I would add that to your request as well. The walk from 50s isn't as long as 90s, its very manageable.

Standard has more rooms, so you'd be more likely to get the #1 request booking standard.

Who you put the request through depends on how you booked in the first place. If through a travel agent - have the TA add the room request to your reservation. If through Disney direct, call Disney and have it added. If through a third party wholesaler, you'd need to contact the wholesaler. Touring Plans also has an option to send room requests to the Disney resorts.

I would not even mention the word "connecting". You want to request fourth floor end room.

There are Preferred rooms in the 50s, 60s and 70s.

50s also has Standard and Standard Pool View.

70s also has Standard.

Unless the Skyliner has changed this, I thought the 60s Lake View rooms were Standard. ??
60s also has Preferred Pool View.

More Standard rooms than anything else.

Last Summer we had building 3, upper floor, backside, lake view. It was very quiet yet we could watch the Skyliner testing. The year before that, we had building 1, upper floor, backside, parking lot view, very quiet as well.

I had an upper floor room in building #1 at Pop. If you look at a map we went up the very first bowling pin staircase nearest to resort check in. The room faced the little green area towards the front of the building. It was super quiet.

If you want a preferred room, then book preferred. Request upper floor away from the pool. No connecting door if possible.

Better to do standard or preferred ?
I mentioned above that there are more standard rooms than preferred ones, so you'd have a better chance of getting the request of high floor and/or end room in a standard room. But, you'd run the risk of being in a room that's not as convenient. Depends on what's more important to you.

I would skip the "very generic" room request in online check-in, as this has a tendency of overriding any requests that you call in. I would call and tell them your requests in order of your importance. For quiet area, I would request lake side/view. But even if you get all your requests, if your neighbor is noisy you "will" hear them and I can attest that this is no different at Mods or Deluxes.

And as always if you arrive and did not get a room you like, you can always ask again(very politely works best :) ) at the Front Desk(if you do online check-in,call the number in your text).

That was not my experience. But I was at ASMUsic, so perhaps that's different from Pop. BTW, there was a connecting door to the next room. The people in the next room might as well have been in my room. It was that loud. I have never ever had a noise experience like this at a Mod or Deluxe. Hear my neighbors? Yes. Hear them to the extent that I was unable to sleep because of it? No.

Edited to fix typos.

Plus, preferred rooms are all in the 60s section
Preferred pool view rooms are in the 60s section. Preferred rooms are located in the 50s, 60s, and 70s.

There are a few standard rooms in the 60s. They are on the back of the building, in the L shape facing the lake.

@pooh2001 I think there are advantages and drawbacks to both standard and preferred. Standard rooms are further away from the central sidewalks that have most of the traffic (and noise) from the resort. However, the larger groups are frequently assigned rooms in the 80s and 90s; some of these groups are louder than others. Preferred rooms, in my experience, because of their central location, tend to get more noise from people walking past. I’d probably choose standard and request a lake view room. I’m hesitant to tell you to say “no connecting room” because in my experience, when I’ve requested not to be near something, I’m always given the room that’s the opposite of what I wanted. Like “not first floor” has gotten me a first floor room. The room assignors seem to read right past anything that’s a “Not” request. I’ve had better luck requesting what I do want as opposed to what I don’t.
