......not surprised that POP hasn't got the fridge thing resolved. We were there 3 weeks ago ...and obviously it was an issue then ....and the CM at check in gave us a hard time regarding the $15/day fridge credit. She hit us with "when did you book? ....did you see that it's not a room amenity now? ..... do you know it's not on the web site any longer?
......after dealing with her load of attitude, we gave some of our own, "well ....we booked LONG before it was an issue ...we know about the $15/day credit ...so give it to us!!"
....she had given us the worst reception / service related to the room we were assigned (that's where the attitude began first). Because we had (long ago) booked poolside, preferred room location ...and specifically asked for ground floor. We know it's not a guarantee ....but in the past ...they always made it happen ...sometimes getting a supervisor to pull the strings. This time it was basically, "No ...not available ...can't do it for you" ...and wouldn't even get a supervisor. So that's where the attitude jumped off ....and now she was giving even more regarding the fridge.
.....you see....the date of when you booked is completely irrelevant. The list of amenities is completely irrelevant. The non-working fridge is IN THE ROOM. It is therefore, an AMENITY .....as is the paint on the wall ...and hot running water ...and a working toilet. If it's in there ...and it's not working ...fix it ....or credit me. That's it. They'd lose badly in a court of law ...because they didn't REMOVE the fridges (which technically weren't fridges to start with ...they are coolers).
....we've been to WDW 11 times in 10 years ...10 of the stays were at POP. And this by far was the worst experience we have ever had there. From the bad customer service at check in ...to the fridge fiasco ....to the horrible selection in the food court (one station closed the entire time we were there) thus limiting our selection ....a selection that is published ...in print ...and on the web site. The 'real food' dinner choices were not available in the evening ....and there was no omelet station for breakfast ....and I believe it was not open for lunch either. I was told that occupancy was down sharply (by a food court CM) ...ever since AoA opened (and in general). But ...because YOUR occupancy is down ...is no reason to cut food choices to the guests that ARE THERE.
....FYI ....since OCCUPANCY IS DOWN ...I noted several rooms on the first floor of the 60's buildings that were vacant the entire time we were there. So, the CM at check in was just being rude and had no intent of helping out to get us the room location we desired. You'd hope that repeatedly visiting a certain resort would gain you some kind of repeat customer appreciation ....but, customer appreciation was sorely lacking at POP this past trip (8/24 thru 9/2)
