I was so happy when September 1 came. First thing I said that morning was "next month we're going to Disney!"

That sounds so much better than 42 days lol

Thank you to everyone who has been keeping us who are still impatiently waiting for our trips updated! 38 days until our first stay a Pop! So flippin' excited!!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

We have always stayed at POP on our previous trips. This year though we decided to upgrade to a moderate and stayed at POR. Have to say we sure did miss POP! Can't wait to go back on our next trip in 2015.

The bedspread disappears. Here's a photo from All-Star Sports, which also has the new bedding. This soft goods treatment of sheets with themed throw is what Disney is tending to use across the resorts and on the cruise ships.

I hope they truly look like this. Sooo much nicer. :)

Caribbean Beach Resort has had them like this for months, it's just slowly going to all resorts. POP's turn now!

I love the bedspreads! I wonder if it is a new law or something because I know people were always trying to fight that hotels could use those nasty comforters and only had to wash them something like once a month! I always instantly took them off and threw them in a corner.

I never ever leave comforters on hotel beds so I'm really glad to see them going the way of the dodo.

Checked in this evening - MB's worked right out of the gate for Magical Express. Best part, ZERO line for Magical Express. RFID mug was easy peasy. We got a 60's room in Bldg 4 facing courtyard, nice and quiet, perfect. Old fridge with note BUT ours was plugged in and cold so I'm using it, we're all rock n' roll like that. Old bedding, not the cool new stuff but maybe since I took both bedspreads off and folded them and put them in a corner like Baby they'll be nice and just take them. For the price I still think Pop just can't be beat. Still love this place.

Hi I am coming to POP in March 2014 my first trip to WDW and will fly into MCO at 1030pm. We have booked a preferred room for myself and husband. We are hoping for a king bed, but not sure what else I should be requesting/what can I request?
I read throughout this thread that rooms get assigned first come basis and am worried as we will be getting in so late about what room we will get.
Any tips would be great :)
Thanks

We checked in yesterday and used our MBs at DME, it was awesome bypassing that line at the airport. We were standing there waiting for our bus and the lady in front of us asked her husband where their MBs were. She had been carrying them in her purse the whole time, but they didn't know to use them for the Magical Express and had waited in the humongous line!

Did online check-in, but the regular check-in line moved much faster because of the number of cast members they had working that side of the desk at that time (around 3 o'clock). A family that rode the same ME bus as us got through the regular check-in line long before I was done.

We are in building 6. No new fridges, just an old one with a note on it. And no new bedding. I'm going to ask about a medical fridge or a credit tomorrow because we're travelling with an infant and I was going to refrigerate milk for him.

The traffic for last night's villains bash was crazy. I heard they were at capacity around 9ish. We were just trying to get home from Epcot around 7:30 and ended up spending an hour on the bus. Not trying to sound negative, but the seats on the bus were full and there were about 5-8 people standing in the aisle. I was holding said infant and had DS4 standing holding onto my leg because no one offered a seat. I wouldn't have minded standing the whole time with one of them, but both of them was tough. I wish people had a little more kindness. I was raised to offer my seat to the elderly, people with disabilities, pregnant women, and small children.

But we're still glad to be here in the house of mouse and have been having a great time so far.:dance3:

Can someone please explain how we check in for Magical Express with the MagicBands? I'm only familiar with standing in that long line....

This!!!! We arrive at the airport this evening and I'd love to know!

It's so easy! Walk up wearing your magic band, they'll direct you past the line straight toward a person with a computer and a MB tap pad. Then straight on to the bus lanes, where they'll scan your band again before you board the bus. DS4 loved it and thought he was big stuff because they all lowered the scanner down to his height so he could scan his. Also, only one person in your family had to scan their band for the ME.

How did you use the MB for ME? I didn't even know that was an option. We customized ours already but they haven't shipped yet, so I still have time to add ME.

Edit....guess I should have read further down for the answer lol

But....is it something you can do when you land at MCO, you don't set it up in the customising phase?

DD was at POP in July with her 13 month old and did not have a frig in their room but she called and told them that she needed one so she could have milk on hand for her baby and she got one. In other words she was honest about the need and got a frig.

That sounds great! I just explained it to DD15 and she said, "but if all the resort guests get MagicBands next month, won't they all bypass the desk too, then there won't be a line at the desk, right?" Gotta love the teenage mind....

Thank you much!!!

Quick question - what's the location of bell services at Pop? I know it's in Classic Hall, and my guess would be on the side closest to 50s, near the ME stop? I'm looking at the resort map and that's where a baggage symbol is, but I'm not sure if the map is exactly representative or if that just means it's in that building.

I'll need to pick up my ECV before I do anything else, my back will be awful after being in an airplane seat all morning.
