Relatively easy to get to is subjective!! LOL. ;)
I much prefer the Target there!!! It's less than 15 min but don't remember the exact amount of time to get there. Have been to it MANY times!! To get all kinds of things including perscriptions!!
Ask at the POP gift shop, they have a hand out with written directions to many local businesses including both the target & walmart! :)

Thank you! :)

My thoughts on whether or not you will get any money back due to having no refrigerator:

1) Don't go up to the desk and say that you bought food and you saw on message boards that you would get a credit. If you knew in advance that there were no refrigerators and you bought food then you put it upon yourself that it is an inconvenience.

2) If you booked the room after the date that the refrigerators were disconnected, then it isn't truly an inconvenience to you. The fridges were no longer a listed amenity. I'm fairly certain that they can look up to see when you booked your room.

3) Don't go up to the desk and throw a tantrum about the refrigerators, it only make you look like an a-.

I had no problem getting a credit because I asked nicely. The lady next to me, not so much. She is the one who bought food and then demanded a credit because "message boards said she would get it." I looked at the CM and rolled my eyes. I'm sure she had a good laugh about it when we left.

I'm sorry about the repeat post, but when I posted a couple days ago my iPad froze and I never saw the post go thru. I thought I lost it when I looked for it it wasn't there. Thank you to those who help answer my question. :) I can't wait.

My phone tweaks all the time and I double post without meaning to.... don't worry about it, we can't control technology lol

Checked in this afternoon. Our only request was 70s but we couldn't get it. They did give us a pool view room in the 60s when I only paid for standard, so that was a nice touch.

My fridge is plugged in & working. I'm not sure if its new or if previous occupants just plugged it in.

We ate at AOA food court for dinner tonight and enjoyed it. I had the make your own pasta. Lots of Pop folks there complaining about the food court here.

Magic bands have worked perfectly. I won't offer an opinion on FP+ (yet) since we've only used it today at AK.

Crowds are pretty light for a holiday (which was predicted). Hopefully we have similar luck tomorrow!

That's all for tonight! Thanks for all the help on this thread!

Has anyone requested/received the $15/night credit for a non-working fridge?

Curious about this too. Everything I've read says you have to request the credit. My 8 month old grand daughter will be with us. 1st night we are sharing a room (babysitting while DD & DSIL go to Villains night)after that they (DD,DSIL, & baby Emma) are moving to their own room.
My daughter got a letter saying she probably won't get a fridge, I didn't and they are in my room the first night. We'll definitely request the credit if that's what we have to do.

I requested the credit, and got it. They did not mention the non-working fridge or the credit when I checked in. They sent a letter, but it did not arrive until after we had left on our trip.

Anyway, I asked for the credit, and they gave it to me. I didn't explain why I needed it- in fact I told them I didn't have a medical need. Just simply asked for the credit, and they told me it would be credited to my room charge. If I didn't charge that much to my room over the week (yeah, right, LOL...) then it would go on my credit card. On my room bill there was a $105 credit.

This was Aug 17-24, so it may have changed.

:offtopic: Does anyone know if Package upgrades could be made once you already have your magic bands ordered? Is this like officially checking in??

I'm wearing a brown shear bathing suit cover and busted sunglasses (I quickly tossed them into my purse this morning before I got on the RnR and I scratched up the lense pretty good) So I can only see with one eye now! :lmao:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: That's so something that would happen to me!!

I asked nicely for a credit and was told no when I was told there was no working fridge in my room. I then explained nicely that I had booked the trip a year ago when fridges were part of the amenities and I was staying for a 13 day trip and really needed a fridge and was still told no. I asked nicely to speak to a manager and was told I could use their main fridge to store any items I purchased through Garden Grocer.

I finally got mad and got my credit. Please don't assume being nice will get you the credit. I think a lot depends on the CM or manager you happen to be dealing with.

When the issue first happened it seemed pretty easy to get the credits. Now that the letters have been popping up they are less likely to give you the credit and with simply offer to store any perishables at the front desk. The letters seem to be coming out slowly but it does sound like Disney is using that as a "fair warning" situation.

I agree with all your points/advice. I got the credit thanks to hearing first about it from these boards (so thanks again. Everyone is very informative and helpful) but I did call the hotel a couple weeks prior to ask about the fridge situation and I brought up the $15/night credit but made no mention of where I heard it from. I also was one that booked way back and the fridge was listed as an amenity. Also, the nice CM checking us in had no problem issuing the credit but for some reason a more veteran CM next to her overheard this and said they stopped giving the credits. I asked if he was a manager he said no and went to get one. In which the manager honored the credit. I was kind of annoyed for that CM to just stuck his nose into my business, but in the end it was fine and still got it.

Hey fellow Pop'ers...does anyone know the date when the friges were no longer listed as an amenity?...I don want it to an issue when I get there. If I don't quality for the credit I don't even want to bring it up....TIA.

FREE FRIDGE!

We're at Pop now and didn't have a working fridge in our room when we got here so we ended up buying one. ;) We're checking out today and just realized we don't know what to do with the fridge, obviously we can't take it on the plane.

So, is there anyone here now or checking in today that would like a free fridge???

I also wanted to add that we checked in on the 18th and were able to get the $15 a night credit without any problems, we just had to ask. And the credit more than paid for the fridge we bought so it worked out for us in the end. :thumbsup2

Well I guess I got the more veteran CM at checkin. ;)

Online check-in popped up today as well as FP+ selections. I guess I'm a little surprised that the system works.

My question is actually about Magic bands because I know many people here have customized theirs. Where do they write your name on the band? It's just DH and myself, we don't need names to tell our bands apart, and it seems a little weird to have our names written for everyone to see. Are the letters big or discreet?

I'm so bummed about the food court reviews. One of my favorite things about Pop was their great food court; esp. Mom's night out dinners and the Mediterranean chicken flatbread. We had planned our first night to have dinner at Pop, guess we will be walking over to AOA.
