I just didn't think the POP rooms were up for a refurb yet (its barely 3 years on the current version. There are deluxe hotels that are going on 5-7 years without a change.) I know they were painting the big icons outside the buildings, but nothing inside has been reported that I have seen. Perhaps she is confused with that?
(I am not doubting you :flower3: but I am doubting her ;))

Oh I know, I am doubting her too which is why I keep calling back and getting different people to give me a straight answer. lol I called back just now to put my request in again. I really hope she is confused b/c that is the only request I have, to be in the 70's section. If I can't get that section, then the 50's section is my next preference.

I will be there around the same time. Checking in on 9/27 and staying until 10/3. I am so excited for this trip. I am about to start packing most of DD's clothes as I want to be sure they all stay clean before we go without having to do a last minute load of laundry.

Are either of yall going to MNSSHP? We will be going to the one on the 29th.

No not us. Just my wife and I are going. We have been to the party before but we will be spending most evenings at food and wine festival.

Anyone been at Pop for Halloween before? Do they do anything special?

There are activities throughout the evening. We chose to do EMH at EPCOT instead, so I don't have specifics, but there will be signs posted with all of the activities and times.

Awesome. Thanks so much. I think that will be our rest/shop day, so we will be at the resort.

Have we gotten confirmation on a rehab in the 70s section? Was Pop even due for one? :confused3 We are checking in this weekend and that was my ONLY request.

Could anyone who is currently there could walk in that direction and see if it looks like that section is unoccupied? (I am having a hard time believing that they would take an entire section down at a time (a floor, or even 1 building maybe, but not the whole section.)

Thanks!!

I am currently staying at pop building 6 70s section and haven't noticed any refurb going on. I am here until Aug 31st

Hey we are also going in about a month. Sept.26-Oct.6. Starting to forward to the trip.

We're staying 9/25-10/2. We'll be the ones with Disney tshirts on. Lol

Can anyone confirm if/when the 70s will undergo rehab? Requested it for our late September trip hoping for some quiet away from the pools.

Pop Century had its last full-resort refurb in 2010. It's not impossible they would be redoing room rehab work in the 70's, but it seems unlikely.

For what it's worth, the official WDW refurb document (http://media.disneywebcontent.com/S.../pdf/D-MailPDF/IntlDmailwdwRefurbishments.pdf) does not list any work for Pop Century at all. I would think a full section refurb would make that document, but I can't say for sure.

Little info on the food court from looking last night.

I arrived yesterday and went to the food court last night to get some supplies for the week for my room since they were nice enough to get me a fridge when I asked. So I always buy milk and water for the room. I am disappointed to find they no longer sell the 1 liter bottles of water and the only milk I found was the the small kids cartons or the big 1/2 gallons. They did have whole, strawberry and chocolate in what I call adult size but nothing else and I wanted to get a milk in the adult size just not whole. I ended up getting the 1/2 gallon to save a little money for the week of milk but hopefully they have more of a selection in the morning for everyone else for breakfast.

The soda machines have been switched to the new ones but since people still have some of the older mugs they aren't switched on yet. Once people vacationing with the old mugs leave they no doubt will turn them on. I did find anouther problem that could happen when filling your RFID mug to cause problems. When I was filling my mug the sprayer that gives the soda was spraying wrong like sideways for some reason but filed my mug a quarter of the way. But since it was covered in soda had to go dump it to clean the sticky soda off the mug. That would have registered as me using that much in a fill and thus would not let me get a full fill when I wen to a different properly working side to fill. So then it would involve getting a CM and telling them what happen so you can get your soda fixed taking more time from the day and just an over all headache for what should have been a quick soda fill and go. CM are going to have to do regular checks on the operations of the soda machines to keep things running smoothly.

I thought the mugs got you unlimited refills at the resorts?

We just got back and stayed in building 10 in the 70's. I saw no indication of room rehab. They were cleaning and painting the big wheel outside, but that's all I saw.

The new RFID mugs do still give you unlimited refills, but you have to wait 2 minutes between refills. This is presumably to keep people from filling the mug, pouring it into another container, then refilling it again, repeat, etc.

That's a bummer. :( the old style medical fridges did have an actual freezer section. I often use gel packs for "me", not for meds and ice doesn't work as well.... the gel packs just don't get as cold in a fridge section.

I turn the fridge colder before I left for the park this morning cause I felt it wasn't keeping the milk cold enough. Well I got back and my bottle of water was frozen. The milk was really cold but not frozen. The fridge still could be set colder so I can only guess you can set it to be a freezer or a fridge if needed.

It never ceases to amaze me how naive I am. I would of never thought about using a mug to fill other drinks.

I've seen people refilling soda bottles via the soda fountain. On the refurb topic, I'm sure a refurb would have been all over the boards prior to Disney releasing any information.

Received Magicbands today and an email from TA with invitation for testing! YAY!!! 25 days left!

Hi all!

I need recommendations on the best way to get from POP to the Grand Floridian for dinner at 1900 PF.

We'll have a car but thinking of leaving it at the TTC for the midday break and bus /monorail after the break to get to dinner, then fireworks at MK to close out the night.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Thanks!
