Well I called back a little while ago and got someone else who said they didn't know about this refurb on the 70's section so I asked to talk to a supervisor. It's very confusing to get conflicting answers. That person said there will be no rooms avail in that area when I check in because they are painting the rooms, etc. the rooms will be ready again during the duration of our stay. I am still very excited to stay on property but when we stayed at our normal hotel in DTD when I called for info they were all on the same page. I think it's because there are just many different departments.

Hopefully for your stay it will be avail!!

Ok so we're talking a matter of days or weeks, not months? We're going in February and planned on staying in the 70's!

Can anyone confirm if/when the 70s will undergo rehab? Requested it for our late September trip hoping for some quiet away from the pools.

My husband just went down for coffee. He said the old mugs are gone. The new RFID mugs are now available.

I customized mine the same day they became available on the MDE. That was a Wednesday, I had them at my house by Friday. Just got the official invite in the mail 2 days ago (a couple weeks after I got the bands) and it said I had to customize them by Aug 28. So I think once you customize them they are officially ordered.

Same designes just new colors. Orange, purple, and I forget the other color. The only difference on the design is the new rapid fill logo on it.

I don't see resort specific mugs coming out. With the new RFID mugs you can use the mugs at any resort.

With that being said, I wish they had resort specific as well

Interesting about the mugs. We just checked out yesterday and as of Friday AFAIK, they were only selling old non RFID mugs. Anyone know how they handle the transition? If we were still there today, how would we use the mugs we just got a couple of days ago? They did not mention the coming change when Dh bought a mug Wednesday.

I was wondering the same thing myself. I don't see them allowing people to trade in a regular mug for a Rapid Fill, seeing as so many people bring old mugs.

I can understand that, because they wouldn't necessarily know if your mug is new or old. They could ask for a receipt, to dee the date of purchase, but I would not be able to find my receipt.

This is why I am surprised that nothing was said so close to the transition date. They could have told me to be sure to save my receipt because in a few days the mug I was buying would be obsolete, but that with my receipt I would be able to exchange it.

Perhaps there will be an overlap period. I would love to hear from anyone there currently to see how it's handled.

Who am I kidding? I wound love to be there still, myself, rather than riding home in the car. I would be glad to investigate new mugs if I could just stay longer!
