Ya know, one of these days one of the geniuses at Disney will read this thread and Lakeview will no longer be just a Standard room request. They'll turn it into a bookable category and charge the same as Preferred.
If anyone else is there next October 17-26...look me up!
We should be there Oct 18-26 (also going those dates this year).Be sure to take some time to tour the shadowboxes in the lobby. It is like taking a stroll down memory lane seeing all of the toys and items we had growing up.

I think that none of the 60's preferred views give you a lakeview. Lakeviews are standard rooms. See the resort map: http://s962.photobucket.com/user/br...pg.html?&_suid=137354818030304953152845996053
Personally, we've always reserved standard rooms and I love getting a lakeview, so that is what I request. It is usually granted, but not always. Even though the resort seems large, it really isn't much of a hike to the food court from anywhere (but we have no mobility issues). We've timed our walks from the food court to our rooms and usually the walk is less than 5 minutes to anywhere we've been placed. Personally, I'd save the money and spend it elsewhere.
Anyone know if POP has been upgraded with Joffrey's coffee in the food court?
Any items on the new food court menu highly recommended?
We were there in Feb, looking forward to the new menu!
Yeah we were "talking" about that yesterday or the day before. 4 months is a long time to have to replace refrigerators. Hopefully disney is quicker than that. The longest part, I would think, is ordering and waiting for them yo be delivered.
You're probably the only one looking forward to the new menu, apparently it's not that great![]()

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.
We have discovered a possible issue with one of the refrigerator models
that is widely used in our Guest rooms at certain Walt Disney World
Resort hotels.
Because of the possible issue, we will disable use of the impacted
refrigerators by unplugging the refrigerators, binding the electrical
cord, tagging the cord with a do not use label and placing a Guest
letter on the refrigerator.
We are working to procure replacement refrigerators quickly, but this
could take several months to accomplish. We appreciate that many guests
use these refrigerators regularly and we do have a limited number of
replacements on hand. Should you have a particular need for a
refrigerator for your stay, please contact us at 407-934-7693 to have
the request noted on your reservation.
We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact
us.
Sincerely,
Alea Wilkins

Those needing the fridge for medical reasons will have priority (as they should). While it would be inconvenient to not have one, I think their compensation is very generous. Disney has the best customer service.![]()
