I hate to say it but, almost everything we have tried at the food court has been awful. I really was looking forward to the offerings. Last night I had sesame chicken and the hubby had the popping nachos, yuck! We also tried the rueben stromboli and really didn't care for it . On a positive note, the kiddos had the pasta and meatballs and they are great.

When we first checked in our room, we found it to be very clean, it even smelled like it had just been cleaned. No bugs, lots of lizards outside. We're staying in the eighties bldg.

We're staying in the eighties bldg.
We will be staying in the 80's building in January. If you don't mind me asking - which room are you in? We would like to be on the side facing away from the pool - facing more towards the bus stops so that it isn't as long of a walk. Do you happen to know what room numbers those would be?
Thank you!

If you're asking because you want to request those room numbers, let me make another suggestion. Word your requests like this "facing away from pool more towards bus stops". This lets the room assigner know exactly what you are looking for. If you request room numbers and those are not available they can still get you what you're looking for.:thumbsup2

We're in the 9400 section. We had requested 80's and 4th floor, we got both. Maybe a 5 minute walk to the bus stop.

thanks! actually, the mom's night out is still available. just not the FRIED chicken.
they also did away with the shrimp lo mein, and the chicken penne alfredo.

not sure what else. I haven't been there since the changes. we must have caugth the tail end of the "good stuff" the end of APril!;)

I got a phone call today from WDW! :goodvibes I was truly shocked to see a 407 area code come up over my phone this afternoon. The CM I spoke with said she was passing my concerns along and was just absolutely wonderful! She and I literally chatted for half an hour. Great experience! It's nice to know that Disney reads the mail that we send and takes our feedback seriously. I was just amazed that someone took the time to call me back over the issue. She even gave me her direct line so I could call her if I had any other concerns. WOW!!! Way to go Disney! :cheer2::cheer2:

And she taught me something today that I didn't know. Did you know that the choir members in the green robes at the Candlelight Processional are CM's? I had no idea. I'll be looking for her when I'm there! :)

We walked over to AOA to eat several times and their food was MUCH better! loved their food court. Highly recommend going to AOA for your dining needs!

as for the room, we had a preferred pool room and I requested ground level close to transportation. I got the 3rd room in on building 4, ground floor. Yes, I heard kids playing in the pool until about 10 at night but not obnoxiously loud. I did not have problems with people being loud or obnoxious walking on the sidewalk outside of the room. the only thing that was really loud was the movie by the pool at night. It could get a bit loud at times. me and my DD are not bothered by background noises and had no trouble going to sleep despite the pool noise/movies and we go to bed early...around 9ish. But so many people get so nervous about the noise they second guess their room choice. Not too bad in my opinion.

I did walk to the little mermaid rooms to see them. I originally had booked them but changed when i heard concerns about walking from the rooms to the busses. I'm glad I changed to POP. my DD and I are not lazy by anymeans but it did seem like quite a walk from the main hall to the LM rooms. I actually think the walk across the bridge to my room at POP was closer than the walk to the AOA food court to the LM rooms... I could be wrong, but it seemed that way!

anyways, no bugs or roaches. no snakes. clean room, clean bathroom with no mildew or mold. no peeling paint, carpet seemed clean. I had no complaints at all. Didn't even hear the toilets from the next room like some people claim. :)

Posted this on the July thread but thought I would ask here, too. We'll be 30 days out tomorrow (!) but no Mickey Mail yet. We're booked thru a TA. Thinking I'll give her a call to check on things.

We typically get our stuff about 2-3 weeks ahead of time. We leave in 21 days and my Disney TA sent me an e-mail yesterday and said she just got all of our paperwork and would be sending it out today. You should be getting your stuff in a week or two.

ETA: Actually, we leave in 17 days....apparently I was having trouble with math this morning. :confused3

Thanks! I couldn't remember when we usually get it and with all the other posts about getting theirs, I was getting worried! :scared: Using a different TA this trip so just a little nervous. Sure looking forward to our first time at POP!

(I posted this on another thread - thought I would add it here)

We stayed at Pop this past Memorial Day weekend. This was our 5th time staying at Pop.

I have to say that my family thought the food court was much worse than any of our previous trips. We didn't mind trying some of the new food items, we mainly have breakfast anyway. The staff were not used to the new menu and had to keep checking what they were plating, which is OK and it will get better once they are used to the new items. However, while I don't need you to be all perky when serving, the staff were borderline rude, apathetic and certainly disinterested. I tried asking them how they were doing, were they getting used the new menu etc. and barely got a response. At the end of our stay I made a joking comment to my family that maybe they had taken all the good and happy people over to AoA. :confused3

The cashiers were slower than usual and I chalked that down to the new menu items and they were not used to finding the items on the register screen, it was frustrating to us as a customers. I also thought many of the staff seemed like they needed more training. For example we were in line and the cashier got the orders of the two people in front of us and our order wrong and she had to cancel the transactions and complete them again for each customer. She wasn't applying the dining plan correctly and charging the guests for some of the items that should have been covered. It took over 15 minutes to process the three sets of customers and our food was cold by the time we were finished. This was during a slower time as it was a late lunch on arrival day.

Having worked and managed customer service operations to me this points to a bigger problem with the catering management, if all your staff are unhappy, morale is bad, then something is wrong with the management, management style and/or training.

Our room was good as usual, no issues with housekeeping etc. we were left extra towels and plenty of supplies, the room was serviced each day. We did have a problem with our phone. The message light was continually on and each time we checked it said no messages. I called to report it but it didn't get fixed, it really didn't bother us anyway. We were in the 70's facing the lake, nice and quiet.

Pool and the petals bar were great as usual.

We are going back in September. By this time the staff should all be used to the new menu and have worked through those issues. We'll see if the morale of the catering staff is any better.

We booked right through the website and it was conference related, the last 3 trips I didn't get our stuff until around 2-3 weeks prior.

We're going in October and we were planning breakfasts at their food court every morning. This is not sounding very promising at all.
