Hi:cheer2:
Since you are there right now, would you be able to tell me if the kiddie pool is open? We check in on Friday and were really hoping to use it with our son.
Thanks:goodvibes

Hi there! Not too positive on that one. I pass hippie dippy everyday on the way back and have swam in it once but I don't recall seeing the kiddie pool.

So does it make difference what floor you get in regard to the lake view since there Is no deck?

We prefer a higher view, but it's preference. We also like top floor because no one is above us pounding on the floor at 3am. Some people like bottom to avoid stairs/elevator. We think it looks nicer from the top. Just about a week for us... So readyyyyyy! :hourglass

9 more days! *Single digit dance *

First time making a location request. We requested 50's top floor. Last time we stayed at Pop we didn't make any room requests and ended up the first "non-preferred" room in the building. We actually had a shorter walk to the elevator than the pref rooms on the end :)

It's our 6th stay at Pop, and so far we've always been in the 50's. I figure at this point, why mess with what we've loved in the past! :)

is the king bed an extra cost?
and what size bed do non king standard rooms have

first time at pop in just 21 days..just want to be near HH/bus and prefer a king bed..couples only trip

King beds are not an extra cost. It's not a bookable category, just a request that you can make. (It is bookable for disabled guests.)

The non-king rooms have two full size beds. They are not queen sized.

I never have trouble rising early on vacation. I get up early to do a run around the lake -- well, you couldn't get all the way around when we were there in August because construction on LM wasn't complete, but it was very nice to run in the early morning. There are always a few people out for walks, runs, or smokes, so you won't be totally alone. It's nice and quiet though. Very peaceful. Enjoy!

Now that AoA is complete is it possible to walk all the way around the lake?
Thanks!

Anyone go to the Chip & Dale Campfire at Ft Wilderness while staying at Pop?

We have it planned for our arrival day. We'll have a car and were planning on just driving over (since the buses are not really an option).

How long does it take to get there? Is it feasible? I really think it is something my kids would love! :)

Since you have a car the trip will be easy -- I'd expect about a 15 minute drive from Pop to Fort Wilderness.

This is moot since you have a car, but it is possible to use WDW transportation between Pop and Fort Wilderness, for example, you can take the MK bus and then take the boat to Fort Wilderness.

I read on the AKL thread that Pop had switched from Nescafe.:goodvibes
What is the new coffee? Do you like it?
Is it much better than Nescafe?
Does anyone know what other resorts have switched?

104 days!

Our first night we arrive at MCO around 11a with dinner plans at Trail's End at 535pm. Is the easiest way to get there a bus to MK and then boat? Or should we just take whatever park bus shows up first and then bus from there to Fort Wilderness? And then is there an internal bus at FW, too? Never have been there - been dying to go!!

I absolutely cannot wait to get back to Pop! I daydream about it all day!

Here is a link to the Fort Wilderness map: http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/FWMap.pdf

From Pop, I think taking a bus to DHS and then transferring to a Fort Wilderness bus would be the most efficient (i.e. the least amount of time and walking). Taking the bus to MK and then getting a boat to FW is pleasant, but I think it will take a little more time with the boat part. The upside to going MK and boat, however, is that you won't need to take the internal bus at FW to get to the Trail's End restaurant. The boat drops you pretty near Pioneer Hall.

We've stayed at FW in the past and it really is a nice resort. The beach and grounds are nice to explore. Take some time to wander around. Depending on times, you might be able to do the Sing along with Chip and Dale campfire. I think that typically starts at 7:00 with a movie shown after around 7:45. If you have little kids, that can be fun. It's by the Meadow Trading Post, so not in the same location as Trail's End, but easy to get to internally.

Has anyone tried asking for a stepstool at POP? In a different resort's thread someone mentioned getting a stepstool brought to their room to make it easier for little kids to use the sink and toilet. DS and I will survive without it, but it would definitely be nice to have...

I believe I read that Joffrey's is the new brew. I have had it once or twice other places and it good. If you are a Starbucks fan, it does not compare....but it is MUCH better than the brown swill that Nescafé is trying to pass as coffee now. :stir:

Hi,

We have 2 rooms booked for this summer. Does anyone know if the connecting door can stay open between the 2 rooms or does it shut itself? The kids will be in the other room but I wanted to keep the door open during our stay.

Thanks!:)
