Thanks so much for posting this. I was also curious about this. We are doing 2 reservations and a 2 night, room only at the very end. Now I just have to remember the "continued" part.
I hope we won't have to change rooms.
We have always stayed in the 50's section. Building 1, 2 and 3. I'm kind of hoping we might get over to the 90's this time. :cloud9:

As long as you've booked the same room category for both reservations, you shouldn't have to move. My recommendation is, when you check in for your first ressie, to make sure that the second reservation is noted as a continuing ressie in the WDW system. Then, on your check-out/check-in day, go to the reception desk early to check-in for your second ressie. They'll likely give you your new room keys right then and you'll be all set. No guarantees, but they want happy customers. Plus, it's easier for housekeeping to not have you change rooms.

Isn't there a full pizza meal on the dining plan? I thought I read a while ago that for 2-3 CS credits you could do this.Does anyone know the details?

here is a link to the answer. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2460438

Personally, It is cheaper to just go and order it and pick it up yourself and use CS credits or cash. If you have it delivered it would be 2 Table service credits.

Ooh! I leave and come back and a new thread starts!

Well here's my mini report...

DH and I spent 6 nights at POP 4/18-4/24. It was great! All bus waits were really short outside of one afternoon waiting for Downtown Disney and after Wishes getting back from MK (which is to be expected). I was highly impressed with the buses and would recommend staying here just based on that fact alone.

The resort was clean and comfortable. My request for ground floor and building 6 was met. We were at a corner with a view of the lake and it was quiet. DH was worried that it would be a little loud but it wasn't at all! The loudest it was on the last day when we had someone above us.

Can't same much about the meals at POP. We had 2 breakfasts and one dinner. It was fine. We were just so full from the dining plan, that we didn't really eat anything in the resort. Pools were clean and comfortable.

The only negative was the Wifi. I know it's free, but it was sketchy at best. We had problems with our iPad and our iPhones while we were there. The cell service wasn't very good in our location either. Other areas of the resort were a little better. I was able to check my work email and that's about it which I suppose saved me from doing real work while I was gone!

I'm happy to answer questions people may have about the resort since I was just there :)

We'd definitely go back there! We tried a few meals at other resorts this time to get a feel for how those were. Wasn't really impressed with Grand Floridian, but would love to try Poly at some point.

Thanks for the review.:). My parents just checked in yesterday so I'm waiting for a phone call to see how it is going since they are use to the moderates. The call I got yesterday was just to tell me the cruise food was yuck and it was cold out. It was't a disney cruise they are going on that in July. They did the dream last year and are doing the fantasy this year.

We don't go on our trip until the end of August. When should I call to put in my requests? Does it matter if you make them before the 10 day online check in period?

If you have any requests that you want noted, you can call now. It's actually better to add them and not wait. This is especially true if you have a specific request like trying to get a king-size bed room, which are limited, or if you want connecting rooms.

Although with online check-in, note that there is now a set of room requests options you can choose from now -- you can now specify sections of Pop, which you couldn't do in the past. You can't choose specific buildings (which is a request I have made in the past) but if, for example, you were happy with any room in the 50's section, you can wait and make that request during online check-in.

So the online requests are still limited, but more expansive than before.

Thank you! My requests are Building 4, 4th floor, firework view. I will call today to add those requests to my reservation.

Oh and the resort feels a lot smaller than it looks on a map. I noticed that about all of the resorts we visited. The maps look large and sprawling, and we were able to walk across the the entire resort in less than 10 minutes. I think it took about 3 minutes to get from Classic Hall from our room and we were right in the middle of building 6 near the elevator. We are talk and walk fairly, fast, but just my additional 2 cents!

I wish September would come sooner. I can't wait to stay at POP for the first time!!! I think I've reworked my dining and park plans thirty times at this point and I still have four+ months to go!!

Quick question: I'm planning on going to Universal for two days during my trip. What's the best way to get there if I'm not renting a car?

What section is that in? Are the fireworks views only in the pool room views?

I think there is not an official "fireworks view." People report being able to see the Epcot Illuminations fireworks from certain sections of Pop Century. Here is a link to the whole WDW property and you can see that it's tenuous, at best, to see fireworks from Pop. http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/propertymap.htm

There is a "lake view" and that is probably what you'd want to request along with Building 4 and 4th floor. My thought is that a "pool view" would never see fireworks.

We did this earlier this month. We bought a 2-day/2-park with transfer package from DreamsUnlimited. DU is associated with the Disboards. Here is a link to that offer: http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/universal/tickets.htm

We found that it worked well. The transportation is provided by Mears. You call in advance to arrange your pick up from the resort. We were picked up at 6:25 a.m. by a Mears van. The shuttle picked up at two additional hotels before going to US/IOA, but it was efficient. You can either set your time for the return back to Pop when you arrange your pick up, or you can call 3 hours in advance of the time you want to be picked up. The first day, we got a 9:15 p.m. return trip and it was on a Mears Motor Coach. Fortunately, Pop Century was the first stop on the return that night. That bus was stopping at probably 6-7 resorts. (We had BMG tickets for that night; great show, but we were exhausted by the time we boarded the return bus.)

On our second day, we had a 6:25 a.m. pick up and a 3:15 p.m. return. We opted for the 6:25 a.m. pick up because we wanted to be there for the 8:00 opening of IOA. That was a good move because IOA opened at 7:00 for the US resort guests and there was already a bit of a line once the general public was allowed in.

Other people contend that renting a car for a couple of days is better, but I liked not having to drive. The shuttle takes a bit more time, but I felt it was a good trade off.

That is in the 60's. The best section to see fireworks is actually building 3 which is in the 50's. There are no fireworks views from the pool view rooms. They are facing the pool not the lake.

doing a happy :dance3::dance3: because i just paid off my september vacation

That is awesome. We added the Wp&f option and when we did that I thought we paid in full. But I still have a balance of 97.00. It was late when I called plus we did a room only for the night before. So there was a lot going on with connecting the reservations. I'm going to pay the rest in a couple of weeks and make my room request then.

Wow - a new thread! Yay! I haven't checked in about a week and saw the other one said "closed" at the end. I literally said outloud "Noooooooo!!!" Luckily, I followed the link in your sig, Janet!

I'm with several others... this is my daily "news" :thumbsup2

We are going to Pop for our first stay this July. I booked a preferred room, and requested 60s building, 1st floor, courtyard. When I get there, I may change it to lakeview if there is one available in 60s and if they let me switch to standard to get it.

So, how IS the Pop Pizza? We were planning to pick up a pizza on our arrival evening. Should I get it there, or order from Domino's or something?

Can't wait!!!:yay:

As Sandi said, there is Mears for transportation and they are very good.

For me though, it was pretty easy to just get a car for the day. I decided on this because it was cheaper to do so. You can find some great rates online and it was so easy to just jump in the car and head over, rather than waiting for the Mears shuttle and coordinating. We rented through Alamo and we did have to use a shuttle to get to the Alamo place and back, but as I posted earlier, as long as you coordinate the pick up then it's easy as can be. Something about leaving US and walking to a car to get back to Disney just sounded better to me. But either will work! :goodvibes

We will be at Pop in May, we have been several times and it feels like "home" to us. We are getting excited to be back there again :goodvibes.

How much is it to take a cab from POP to The Beach Club? We have breakfast reservations at Cape May and looking at how to get there. We are planning to go to Epcot after that...cab again?
