December 14th!! It is now available to book.

The will be in two phases - the Legendary Years of the 1900s-1940s and the Classic Years of the 1950s-1990s. Giant icons such as the Big Wheel, bowling pins, the Rubik’s Cube, cell phones and more will tower near individual buildings much like those at the All Star Resorts. Famous dance moves from each decade will be immortalized on each building by giant, two-dimensional images of silhouetted couples. Memorable slogans such as "Boogie down" and "Have a nice day" will line the rooftops.

The 2880-room Resort will include two 5,000-square-foot arcades; Disney’s first integrated food, beverage and shopping area; eight courtyards; six pools in wildly-fun shapes; two playgrounds; and recreational paths for riding surrey bikes around Hourglass Lake.

We will try to get the option added back to the Dreams Unlimited reservation request page, but until then, anyone wanting to price this can make a note in the open field that you wish to price the Pop Century Resort.

WOW! Thanks for the news CC. I am sure there will be a lot of happy campers now!

Wahoo!! I have been waiting for this. I plan on being there opening night with my sister. Can't wait.

I usually try to stay away from the value resorts because they seem to get more crowed.

But, I'm now thinking of dividing our two week vacation in Jan. 2004 between Pop Century and the AKL.

Lets not forget that there has been other "official" opening dates set before, that never happened.

I really hope everthing goes through as planned, this looks like a very nice value resort. But, if tourism and travel continues to decrease there probably would not be a need for such a hugh resort at that time.

Mike,
I will agree that Pop Century was beginning to look like the "Test Track" of the WDW resorts, but don't forget that serious events like 9/11 and the Iraq war directly affected tourism and since the worst appears to be over in Iraq, people are planning vacations again. Budget resorts will always book up too.

Good news!!!! I was just reading about PC in my 2002 Birnbaum's this morning. The Yo-yo buildings and the flower power pool sounds right up my alley. Does anyone know which buildings are preferred and which pools are the main ones/quiet ones? I'll bet they won't offer discounts here. I was thinking about trying to book this for our anniversary trip next year (late Jan)

I can't wait to see this place! :D

I just booked PC for our Christmas trip. Dec.19-Jan2

The rates for that time are $77 for standard and $87 for preferred.

The preferred buildings has the 1960s theme. Since I was born in 1968 (and like to be close to everything) I booked a preferred room.

Mike, not sure what you mean? You can book it now for December 14th or later.

Hope that helps.

Does anyone know where there are pictures of resort along with a map layout? I just wanted to see what the finished product actually looks like.

Thanks!

Does anyone know if the rooms are tiny like at the AS? Thanks!

Just to mention:

My stay at PC would start January 2. CRO says that they can't at this time book trips that start past December 31. I don't trust CRO much. Has anybody booked a stay at PC that starts on January 1 or later?

Hi Nala,
I was able to book in January. I split my reservations because of differen pricing seasons. December 27 through January 1 was $114($127.11 with tax) and Janurary1-10 was $99($110.39 with tax).

I was going to book PC for 12/24-12/28 just to give it a try. But the rate even with DC discount, will be around $112 or so including tax. I just cannot justify staying at AS type of accomdations for this type of price, also, I need 3 rooms. We currently have a ressie at Swan for $129 a night, so I ended up not booking it.

Does anyone think PC may not open in time?
