Hi I read an occasional reference to music at the pool area of the Pop. My dd (age 10) is so excited about staying at the Pop. She highly favors it over AK. She loved the colors and large Icons (and thought AK looked too masculine). When I told her there was different music at each pool, she was even more excited...Did I lie to her or is that true? I am staying at the 60's, does this mean there is 60's music at the main pool? Thank you, Mindy

Yep, that's what it means. WE stayed in the 50's section and the music was a hoot. I don't remember what the music was at the computer pool since we just walked through there quickly. But we did swim in the Hippy Dippy pool several times and it was music from my teens!!!! DD, almost 12, was quite amused.

There was disco playing in the 70's. I can't remember what was playing in the 90's section.

POP is so much fun, you will love it.

We listened to '70s music everying morning. It woke us up. My step-dad thought they could have waited later than 7 to start it, but I enjoyed it. I thought it was a good wake-up call. I really enjoyed Pop.

If you stay around the Hippy Dippy pool the music will be from the 50-90's you will love it. It was great hearing this music, not like the stuff my DS(12) makes me listen to now. Have a great time we really liked the POP. I can't wait until next years trip.

Thank You, I remember sitting by the pool and listening to Kool and the Gang but as I started reading this thread I thought "Did I dream that?" LOL We heard a lot of Elvis when we stayed in the 50's building. Loved staying 70's. Its a cool thing about Pop. Besides the Boogie Down Margaritas. hehe

I can't wait the 2 things my DD loves is swimming and music. I'm sure you all will see us there. I will be the one hiding under my towel while DD(5) and DGM (80) are getting their "groove" on by the pools!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Loved the music at the Pop, we stayed in the 70s building and thought the atmosphere was great! Definitely would make a return stay there in a second! :flower:

The music that they play in the food court and by the bus stops is a mix of 50s-90s and seems to be on a loop (heard Billy Jean about 5 times over 7 days :rotfl: )

Just to show how much I pay attention, I don't remember any music being played.

Although a very talkitive DS would tend to drown out anything in the background.

The music near the hippy dippy pool features music from 50s-90s that repeats every 3 hours.

That is just so much fun. I can't wait until I go next May!!! I am just so glad to here so many of you like it!

We have stayed at POP 3x already and only use the Hippy Dippy Pool which is the 60s pool. They just not only play the 60s.. if anything they mostly play the 70s music and some 80s and a few 90s. They had ABBA, Elton John, Phil Collins, Elvis Presley, Pointer Sisters, Debbie Gibson, Cyndi Lauper... If I remember correctly, these are some of the aritist that I heard. I know ABBA cause I was kind of dancing to it by the kiddie pool! Ha ha ha ha... :rotfl: I couldn't help not dance to "Dancing Queen!"

In February DH and I were at POP in the seventies buildings and enjoyed the music as we strolled around the resort. We were in the food court one day when "The Twist" came on and all the CM's started doing the twist. A few days later we were there when a song came on and they did another dance, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was. Could it have been Bus Stop?

It's like clockwork. :)
Every morning at 8am, "The Twist" is played in the food court area and all available CM's come out and dance the twist.

Then every evening at 6pm, "The Hustle" is played in the food court area and all available CM's come out and dance the Bus Stop.

I wonder what would happen if they did some sort of exchange program with the Peabody ducks. Hmmmmmm...

I'm with you, Fantasia. I walked the whole resort one morning and can remember hearing and singing along to... Dancing Queen!!
Of course this was in the 70's section! :goodvibes
