Have others had issues with rooms being ready when you show up? Nothing like being here at 430 and your room isn't ready.

Sometimes rooms are ready later than other times. It is one of those go with the flow things.

I’ve not had any more issues with rooms being ready late at pop than any other resort. Maybe due to covid it’s taking longer for cleaning between guests. You can always drop your luggage at bell services and head over to Disney Springs for dinner.

In September we arrived just before 4 and hadn't gotten a text yet (I only got the "not quite ready" text at noonish), so I went to the front desk and they were able to get me a room right then (and in my favorite location / meeting my request from online check in).

On most pre-covid trips my room has been ready early, aside from the one time they gave me connecting rooms with my parents (parents's room was ready early, mine was ready right at 3).

Thanks. Still no ready, we ordered food to eat in our room instead of eating out since we had a long travel day. Nothing like having a 3pm check in and being hours late. I don't think people would be very patient if the parks opened 3 hours past the posted time. Maybe I'll get an upgrade for them being late.

Have you asked at the front desk about how much longer or are you waiting for the text or MDE to be updated? I have had issues where I had to go and check at the desk because my text didn’t come through or update on the app. My room usually had been ready for a bit.

The latest I have gotten my room available was around 4:30-5:00 pm. That time, there was a delay as we had a HA room reserved and they couldn’t just give us a n available room.

I have found if you just wait for a room to show up on the app, it can show up as late at 6/7PM. I go to the front desk after one hour unless I'm in the park. I've always been given a room when I show up at the FD.

I went to the front desk and finally got a room. Kind of contradictory to Disney's request to not go to the front desk and direct to room, but whatever, its a value resort so my expectations weren't that high anyway.

Just to be fair to the Values(by the way Disney continuing to use the term "Values" continues to "stereotype" the Values as having less quality accommdations and less quality Disney service than the Moderates and Deluxes)having probems getting the Room Text and having to go to the Front Desk is not unique to the Values.

The issue is not unique to value resorts. We had the same issue at Wilderness Lodge, only to eventually get assigned a standard room directly above Whispering Canyon Cafe (we paid for a courtyard view), quite possibly the worst location in the entire resort.

There is no guarantee that your room will be ready at 3pm at Pop or any other Disney Resort. They are doing enhanced cleaning of rooms due to Covid. I would much rather wait for a room to be cleaned properly than to move into a room that was rushed through cleaning.

In the times we've been this year, the availability of our room really seems to depend solely on how lucky you are with where the room you've been assigned sits in the cleaning queue. We've stayed at POP twice this fall (once in Sept. and once in Nov.) and one time we didn't get the text until about 6:30 PM. The other we got at 12:30 PM as we were walking to Magical Express at MCO. Most of the time you can go to the front desk and they should be able to find a room for you that's ready to go (though it may not meet the requests you've sent in). From what we heard the last time we were there, room cleanings are taking longer now than usual because not only are they cleaning more, but each room also has to be signed off by a manager before it can be occupied.

In my previous experiences at Pop, with one exception, whenever I had not yet received a text upon arrival, I was assigned a room when I went to the front desk. Only one time can I recall the front desk not assigning a room and I had to wait for a text.

I have stayed at Pop once (May 2019). Normally I stay at GF but I was traveling alone and want a more reasonably priced accommodation. Concerns: Check-in was very late afternoon and my luggage was taken to the wrong room. At checkout my bill was done incorrectly twice. (I was glad to have the room quote etc. I had printed online at home with me.) That being said: The folks that work at Pop were very nice. (I just accepted the very late room check-in.) They retrieved my luggage and all was okay on that issue. The bill was redone not once but twice to match what my paperwork from home stated for costs. AND I loved my room and staying here! I will happily stay here again if traveling alone. Two strikes before you are out with me.

This exactly.

By the way, pre-covid I have waited as late as 7pm for a room. At CSR. Your room is never guaranteed to be ready right at check in. And you have to think it goes both ways, would you rather you not be considered a resort guest until 3pm? I much rather how they do it now, where we can check in early and get all the benefits of being a resort guest even before our room is ready. Before official check in time

If you were not able to get into your room till say 5 pm, does that mean that you will get a 1 pm check out time on check out day? You are paying for that time to access your room. You should get those two hours back in some form.
