Pop Century rooms

Well of course not. I mean, what if to say that you don't get your room till 6 pm? At what point does one expect some sort of compensation for not getting what they paid for?
Well you can always ask for compensation, we’ve received compensation from Disney when our room wasn’t ready on time. But expecting additional time on checkout is never going to happen.

Also, as others have pointed out, you can always go to the desk earlier and see if other rooms are ready. It’s one of the downfalls of making room requests as it locks you into that room regardless of its cleaning schedule. If you’re more flexible in your room, you can almost always get a room early going to the desk.

Just to be fair to the Values(by the way Disney continuing to use the term "Values" continues to "stereotype" the Values as having less quality accommdations and less quality Disney service than the Moderates and Deluxes)having probems getting the Room Text and having to go to the Front Desk is not unique to the Values.
We were just there in September, and everything went perfectly. Just remember, you are there during a pandemic, so there may be glitches.

It’s a new world... how can we all work together?

I wonder if we take time to check out on room TV or cellphone , that should alert housekeeping guest has departed . Don’t think it works that way. I just think cutbacks have affected turnover times.

It’s the new whatever...

On 12/30/2020 my room was ready at 8:45am. We went from Magical Express to our room to dump the luggage and off to MK.
I had requested 1950's first floor and got it.

Got it at the Yacht Club this past October.

But ya, no one is going to have to wait till 6 pm for their room, I know, lol. But I just think that for those rare times where say a 5 pm entrance to a person's room, ya Disney should always offer something. And I do imagine that they do.

Just me,but if Disney gives me a room hours before "official" Check-in time, they don't "charge" me for those "extra" hours,so if they are a few hours late giving me my room,I just don't look at it as a big deal.

If you were not able to get into your room till say 5 pm, does that mean that you will get a 1 pm check out time on check out day? You are paying for that time to access your room. You should get those two hours back in some form.
I bet if you ask and they can accommodate they will try to meet your request. In my travels I have not known any hotel to add equal hours on to check out based on time of check in. Many places actually post a 4:00 pm check-in. Yet in my experience most often rooms are ready prior. B & Bs often have 10:00 am checkouts, and hotels anywhere from 11:00 to 12:00 with late checkouts if you ask and they are able to accommodate. I have actually run marathons in different areas of the country and been granted a 2:00 checkout so I have time to return from the race and shower. Only once or twice , I have been told no and put belongings in my car before getting busses to start lines if I am not staying an extra night.

The addition of equal hours was really sarcasm.

I got it, not sure why no one else did. It could be that I work front desk at a hotel ( and was a fd CM at the Y&BC) and found it funny - we get the weirdest requests and what we call guest "logic" all the time ;)

I guess most folks didn't get it. That is fine, I still made numerous people laugh and one down
right mad.

I've gotten into the habit of immediately stopping by the front desk if I arrive at the hotel after check-in time and I haven't gotten my "room ready" text yet. Twice, I've taken my time, waiting for the ready text, and finally went to the front desk and was told "oh yes, your room's ready, I'm so sorry you didn't get a text!"
